try with those tp2 files (with the menu switcher modification for the original GUI)
setup-gui is the menu which gives u the opportunity to swap beetween GUI (Graphical User Interface)
thoses files work properly (tested numerous time, give them a shot)
there's a pb : in ur weidu log the last entry is not good

it should be : ~SETUP-GUI.TP2~ #0 #0 // "Shadows Over Soubar"

if u still have a pb try to install SoS first :cheers:

if u manage to get rid of this pb u will need to modify the tp2 file for TS aswell , see this post Here and for ur sanity, install TS AFTER CtB

get the baldurdash fix - weidu , first (highly recommended), once ur there backup the whole BG2 dir, before installing any mod (save times if need reinstall)

see the pinned post for the install

make sure to make a full install

others technical questions see ur new god : King Diamond :Bow: :Poke: :P

Ty silver for the response but again the same thing. By the way on what stage do we need to run setup-gui.exe? This must be known problem as i tried several times. Seems when i run setup-gui.exe then weidu.log clearing and gui thing registering the current install. Documentation doesnt write anything about that.

As King Diamond says:

The following way is absolutely clean (ignore unnecessary mods if you don't want to install them):

1) ToB+offic. patch
2) BDash-WeiDU (or G3 fixpack).
3) SoS v1.05/TDD v1.05/next BGT-WeiDU version (when available) - in any order
4) CtB-TDD fix for TDD v1.05
5) CtB v1.6
6) TS-BP v6.04 (it doesn't like CtB to be installed after wink.gif )
7) Deactivate (uninstall) GUI-switcher - choose "Original SoA/ToB" item.
8) Install ANY other mods you want here (hope they're truly WeiDU and don't ruin anything)
9) Worldmap v4
10) Fixes for SoS, TDD, TS-BP
11) If you want you may activate preferable GUI at this point:
- run GUI-switcher once to activate automatically GUI of the last mod from SoS/TDD/SoS/BGT/CtB set;
- run it again to choose manually necessary GUI.

Does it installed be4?

I am posting my debug files maybe it will be more clear. What is this SETUP-~3.DEBUG

Setup-GUI is auto generated i believe the first time u install a mod using it :
SOS, CtB, TDD, TS
each mod update it, every time u run the installer from one of them.

Now the question ; Did u cleared the whole directory , i mean uninstall BG2. or replace the dir by a Backup

u must absolutly start from scratch and follow the KD's procedure., if that fail, i don't know.... :(

I reinstalled everything. Full install and tob patch then installed weidu baldurdash1.5 and after that installed sos with your tp2 file.

// Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods
// The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod
// ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // Component Name
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldurdash Fix Pack for ToB, v1.5 WeiDU
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #1 // Baldurdash English Text Update Pack for ToB, v1.4 WeiDU
~SETUP-SOS.TP2~ #0 #0 // Shadows Over Soubar, v105 WeiDU
~SETUP-~3.TP2~ #0 #0 // "Shadows Over Soubar"

again same thing

Hello.

I'm having some troubles with installing the mods I want. This is the order and what I installed (and that without any problems), starting from a complete and patched version of the original game:

G3Tweaks v15
Oversight v7
BDash-WeiDU v1.5

TDD-WeiDU v1.05
SoS-WeiDU v1.05
BGT-WeiDU v0.99b4

So far everything works just fine, as far as I can tell, I didn't get any error messages during the installation and the game started just fine (I can load an old game and it runs). The problem comes when I try to install CtB-TDDFix for CtB-WeiDU v1.60, this will cause the uninstallation of BGT-WeiDU which is bad. (I tried adding the modifications done in the fix manually and installing CtB-WeiDU v1.60, but the same result.) I did use the changes for the GUISetup part of the .tp2 files of TDD and SoS.

Anyone that has any idea what might cause this?

I've been trying to get all the major mods installed, except NEJ2 since it's apparently not that compatible with the others (at least not the later versions) so I excluded that one, for 2 days now. I did get all installed two days ago (TDD+SoS+TS+CtB+BGT-WeiDU (v0.99b3), in that order or with TS and CtB switch I'm not sure about those two.) and everything seemed to work fine but then I found this thread so I decided to do it properly, and I hadn't installed BDash/G3Tweaks and wanted to install those at the proper time.

Could my installation of Oversight in the beginning cause this problem? I doubt that since it's the GUISetup part that is responsible for starting the uninstallation but my knowledge of how the WeiDU installations work internally is next to zero so I guess it's possible.

I just deleted my installation and restored a fresh BG2:Soa+ToB+patch copy to start over, and this time I will try the exact order as King Diamond said, so I lost the .debug files.

You have to install in this order, if you do it works fine, I have installed in this order about 10 times testing things and it works every time without uninstalling anything.

Like Ronin, i installed many times , and it works properly....
now
1/ u have to manually run the setup-gui.exe only once; for swapping temporary to original gui, for installing xtra mods / fixes (not after installing each mod which support it, only when the last mod supporting it is installed. The fixes auto-execute setup-gui.exe aswell , except ctb fix1 & ctb-tdd fix)

2/that will be silly, but be sure to have the command line window closed after each mod installed, many times the readme file included close it.

I have no other clue, what could corrupt ur install.

I dont know what your doing wrong but what is this: ~SETUP-~3.TP2~ #0 #0 // "Shadows Over Soubar"

That doesnt happen to me, here is part of my weidu.log:

// Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods
// The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod
// ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // Component Name
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldurdash Fix Pack for ToB, v1.5 WeiDU
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #1 // Baldurdash English Text Update Pack for ToB, v1.4 WeiDU
~SETUP-SOS.TP2~ #0 #0 // Shadows Over Soubar, v105 WeiDU
~SETUP-CTB.TP2~ #0 #0 // Check The Bodies, v1.6
~SETUP-GUI.TP2~ #0 #0 // "Check The Bodies"
~SETUP-CTB_FF.TP2~ #0 #0 // Check the Bodies Fast Forward?

Make sure your .tp2's for SOS, TDD and TS (not the fixes or CtB) include the following:

(It's necessary to add right after the last MKDIR following, here is the link to the original thread: http://www.shsforums.net/index.p...howtopic=17853)

CODE
COPY_EXISTING ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~Setup-GUI.tp2~
READ_2DA_ENTRY 0 1 2 "slot_name"
SET_2DA_ENTRY 0 1 2 "%slot_name%"+1
REPLACE_TEXTUALLY "//slot%slot_name%_%slot_name%_%slot_name%"
~~~~~
BEGIN ~"Original SoA/ToB"~ INSTALL_BY_DEFAULT
SUBCOMPONENT ~Game Graphical User Interface (GUI)~
AT_EXIT ~Setup-GUI.exe --uninstall~
~~~~~

I dont get it. If I were you I would uninstall BG2 and wipe the directory. Then reinstall as King Diamond says.

also.... I did not say you were dumb or stupid, I would not say something like that

:cheers:

Thanks a lot for your help. You two are great. i have that code line in my tp2 file but it seems gui-installer doesnt begin automatically after the install finishes. Or it begans but not working as it supposed to be. Now does it mean that i need to install it manually after each install? If i did so my weidu.log resetted showing as only sos installed

I did two reinstallations to test things now, and neither worked. What I did was doing exactly as King Diamond wrote.

Fresh install of BG2:SoA + ToB + patch
BDash-WeiDU v1.5
TDD-WeiDU v1.05 (with the modifications to the GUISetup part of the .tp2 script)
SoS-WeiDU v1.05 (with the modifications to the GUISetup part of the .tp2 script)
BGT-WeiDU v0.99b4

Then I tried to install CtB-TDDFix and it started to uninstall BGT-WeiDU again  :(  (I also tried not installing BDash before but that gave the same result.)

My WeiDU.log before trying to install CtB-TDDFix:
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldurdash Fix Pack for ToB, v1.5 WeiDU
~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #1 // Baldurdash English Text Update Pack for ToB, v1.4 WeiDU
~SETUP-TDD.TP2~ #0 #0 // The Darkest Day,  v105 WeiDU
~SETUP-TDD.TP2~ #0 #1 // TDD Character Kits
~SETUP-SOS.TP2~ #0 #0 // Shadows Over Soubar, v105 WeiDU
~SETUP-GUI.TP2~ #0 #0 // "Shadows Over Soubar"
~SETUP-BGT-PREP.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldur's Gate Trilogy Pre-installation Setup
~SETUP-BGT-MAIN.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldur's Gate Trilogy

Part of the .debug file from the installation of CtB-TDDFix:
Installing [CtB-TDDv1.05 Compatibility Fix]
uninstall: Setup-GUI.tp2 0
We must temporarily uninstall [SETUP-BGT-MAIN.TP2] component 0
[SETUP-BGT-MAIN.TP2] parsed

Any ideas about what could cause this and how to fix it? I'm guessing it might work if I edited Setup-GUI.tp2 to not do anything while installing CtB but that's not a solution I would prefer.

3) SoS v1.05/TDD v1.05/next BGT-WeiDU version (when available) - in any order

not the current version.

try to install BGT-Weidu between steps 7 and 8.

Yes, you are right.

I'm sorry if it's not very clear from my posts but indeed, the current available BGT version is not fully compatible with all that extra-super-cosmetic stuff... :P

So it should be installed as "ANY other mods you want" at the stage 8).

2Sadun
I just wonder what OS do you use and what BG2 version (is it english or some localized one)?

Another solution is to edit the tp2 for the CtB-TDDFix
just go in and delete these lines

ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS ~Setup-GUI.tp2~
THEN BEGIN
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~0~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~1~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~2~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~3~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~4~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~5~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~6~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~7~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~8~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~9~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~10~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~11~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~12~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~13~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~14~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~15~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~16~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~17~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~18~
UNINSTALL ~Setup-GUI.tp2~ ~19~
END
Then go to the end and delete
AT_INTERACTIVE_EXIT ~Setup-GUI.exe~
You will have to make these same changes to the patches for TDD, SoS and TS or you will run into the same problem

All this sounds as finicky as the classic BP-BGT. Why can't we just stick to one order, and code mods so that only ONE order is possible, not all this funky stuff about any order...at least for the mega-modification mods? It would make life a million times easier, I wager.

I think the gui should be packaged separately and all the gui stuff needs to come out of the mods themselves.
