"Cannot find the file "Setup-LongerRoad.exe [or one of it's components] Please make sure ..."

Do I need the Longer Road mod to play the Edwin Romance, or is this a bug?

You don't need Longer Road to play Edwin Romance, this sounds like some kind of weird bug. When exactly do you receive this error message?

When I try to extract the mod to my "Black Isle/BGII - SoA" folder.

Are you using the version packaged in .exe format? I remember it being mentioned somewhere around here by someone else that it does that.

The version packaged as a .rar works perfectly.

I got that problem fixed. [I just installed The Longer Road first, go figure.]

Now I have another problem. I play a fighter/mage and want to work for Bodhi. Is there any possible way to get Edwin in my party WITHOUT working for the Shadow Thieves? Can I just CLUA him in, go kill Mae'Var, and the romance still work?

I have no idea if that works, since I never tried it myself. However, ingame it's possible to have Edwin in your party and work for Bodhi, so there should be no problem that I can see. Just get Edwin first, before you sign up with Bodhi, because afterwards it will be too late.

I don't understand how to do that. I can work for Renal Bloodscalp and expose Mae'Var without blowing my chances at working for Bodhi? A friend of mine told me that if I even go talk to Renal or do anything for the Shadow Thieves, that Bodhi won't let me work for her.

Just tell me what to do, please? I don't want to screw up and blow it, because this is the first time I've ever tried to work for her.

I do know that if you're 'Thief' class, Bodhi won't let you work for her. However, I also know for sure that I've played parties that worked for Bodhi and that had Edwin in them, so picking up Edwin and killing Mae'Var won't prevent that. If there are any other conditions, I'm afraid I don't know, since I usually work for the Shadow Thieves.

You were right. Working for Renal didn't mess up my chances with Bodhi. Now all I'm wondering about is how fast the flirting/lovetalks/random-banter with Edwin will go.

About the same pace as the Bioware ones, I'd say.

Can I manually force it to progress via the console, in case I screw up and piss him off?

Folks - I made a mistake when creating the exe file - by copy-pasting the rar script from LR. Sorry! I am updatimg the upload with corrected version now it will be EdwinRomance.exe as it should have been from the start.

Cool, that cuts down on files I gotta download on my laptop. But my other question remains unanswered. :(

Can I force the romance to progress via console? And if so, how?

Yes, you can.

If you tried to force the romance to progress via console with Anomen, Aerie, Jaheira, or Viconia, it's the same for Edwin.

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EdwinRomance","GLOBAL","1")

or you can use the 'AdvanceRealTime' one..

CLUAConsole:AdvanceRealTime("20000")

Where I put 20000, you can put any number there, so yea.. There ya go. ^_^;;

When I do this, Edwin will immediately initiate dialog [or do whatever he's supposed to do], right?

Yes, it will initiate the Edwin Romance dialog both ways. But the advance real time one will initiate banters, romance dialog and random chats with the PC.
