K'aeloree,

I am very interested in this and I am sure that it'd be a Mod that would never miss in my game. And I am positive that many other share my same opinion but as often happens, it's also a matter of visibility.

In order to let people be interested we should first let them know that such a project exists and having just a small topic in OPP's Forum is a bit limiting...

There is also one more thing to consider...There are some mods, in my opinon, that simply every and each user would not want to miss having (for estethical reasons, for bugfixing reasons or for objective AI improvements&such).

Well...Yours would be one of those, so keep it up if you can!

I think it'd be a cool idea. Let me know if you need any help in packaging it, since I reckon it'd be better to patch already existing books to use new .bams rather than overwriting the files. :)

Heh-- I'm going away for a few days, I'll dig out my 'book' directory when I get back. :)

My main problem is my tablet & stylus pen aren't working, so I can't paint-- hopefully this will be resolved soon. Until then, I'm limited to resizing images of real books and baldurizing them, like the ones above. :(

I found all my book images, but haven't had a chance to do anything with them yet-- doing a bit of a sort at the moment. I had them all lumped into one folder XD

My arteestical pen is still not working, but its going off to get fixed ASAP, so fingers crossed!

Do keep working on this. ^^ I'd be much more inspired not to just dump all the books I found if they were preetyfull. (I'm shallow like that. xP)

Hehe. Hopefully I'll make them prettiful enough for you then Hishi!

FINALLY got my tablet fixed... I'll be getting it back in a few days or so, until then I'll be sketching designs (for the descriptions, of course! Though my sketching style is different from the ones ingame, it'll still fit in I think). So, hopefully I can get at least SOME done!

Wish me luck. *grins*

Best of luck, K'aeloree! This'll be one mod that everyone should use.

If you're lucky, Hishi might give you some tasty cookies!

K'aeloree,

that's great news! You finally got it back!

I am sure you'll be able to make very pretty books for us all to read later and admire some first... ;)

As one who appreciates and uses Lightspeed's paperdoll mod for BG2, I'm interested in unique book covers also. I also am a book collector (in every game that lets me do it). Maybe I was supposed to be a librarian?

The new book covers would work in BG1 also, so long as the final BAMs aren't compressed.

Perhaps I should also make a new magical 'library' item for players who like to collect books. Ideas...?

Hmmm, perhaps a container for books that would have a capacity at least big enough to hold one copy of every book the game offers (75 would be enough for BG2:ToB). Call it the Portable Bookshelf, or something more in line with realm-speak.

You'd have to allow items of type MISC and BOOK though, since Bioware wasn't consistent. Books and scrolls both use these item-type codes. Roleplayers could easily keep the books in the bookcase and the scrolls in the scrollcases.

So is this mod going to happen or simply languish away on the dust heep?

Dust heap until I actually have time to work on it - currently extremely busy organising an online festival for another community, I haven't even had the time to work on the NPC IEP or Illyria. When that is done I'll hopefully get a website up with more information on Illyria, the IEP and the books. :)

Bwehe. ^^ Please continue work on this! Ah, and yes Bursk, I will give him cookies. Only of the non-innuendo variety. Because... well. It sounded like a little bit of an innuendo before. Yes. Friendly, innocent cookies.

Ah, and a tad off topic, but I read some of your poetry on DA, Kae, and it is simply luffly. <3

And... Book bag of holding? Lmao. Me likes.
