For those of you not in the habit of dropping by the Return to Windspear forums for your social kicks, I thought you might be interested in seeing the wallpaper we recently posted there for our upcoming mod



I commissioned it and Selina Fenech painted/digitised/whatevered it.

Wow. I love the way Imoen has been painted. And Jaheira. Both just the way I imagined them. ^^ And just out of curiousity... Is the cleric with Crom Faeyr and the Flail of ages attacking the dragon supposed to be Anomen...? Or CHARNAME, perhaps? O.o;

Quitch.... that is seriously impressive. Damn, but giving Imoen those light-brown, just-verging-on-the-red Bhaalspawn eyes is verging on the genius.

I'm still looking forward to the mod, waiting patiently!

Anomen has a beard, but there's no beard on that character. That represents you, as we imagined a powergamer to be, wielding the most powerful weapons and protected by the cheese protections.

No, she's a character from the mod.

She looks just like I imagined <CHARNAME> to look and she's doing just what <CHARNAME> should be doing during a tough battle, so I always thought that she is <CHARNAME> .

Ah, well, Imoen is a character I rather like and one of the few NPCs I wouldn't betray in a second, so I had the player defending her. I made the player male for balance, then let the artist pick the career. They went with a warrior so we picked out some appropriate items. Jaheira is there because I've had her in a party more than any other NPC, mainly because, out of the four romances she's the only one I've had to take multiple times to get it to work (and it's also the best written and by far the most interesting).

The foreground character will make a whole lot more sense once you've played the mod

We've pulled another four people to help us get this baby out the door.

I must agree too about the romance, Best One Ever!!! Of course I haven't really tried an female mod romances so I guess it's Best Bio Ever!!!

Aye, you'd said that some way back in the thread. My rethink is directed at the Lady In Black; she appears to have dragon eyes, so my attempted throwaway funny was to ask if she was Firkraag's girlfriend.

@Delight: I have to confess that the significance of the tattoo goes way over my head.

Imoen has her own part to play in Return to Windspear, which is why she's there.
