Moderating policy is different from forum to forum. If you don't like the notion that a moderator can edit your posts, keep in mind that nothing forces you to post here - or anywhere else.

A troll who only ever makes one post is still a troll. I'm sorry, but if you don't like accusations it's a good idea not to throw them out yourself. I also might not be quite so suspicious of your posts' content if you weren't a member of staff at the IE forum whose staff have deleted and edited more posts, locked more threads, etc than any other IE community, past or present.

Maybe you yourself don't act in the same way as most of your fellows. If that's the case, and if you really feel so strongly about the subject of moderators abusing their power, perhaps your time would be better spent calling for reform at your own forum rather than elsewhere.

You make a few good points, Gabrielle.  All things being equal, I agree that it's better not to edit other ppl's posts.  I would be more inclined to delete the post or move it to a dead thread forum.

I don't agree with editing a persons post period, which is why I said something. Even one that is a personal attack on myself I don't edit. Let the world see this person for what they really are.

Yet you ban them anyways... Funny thing is the worst I have seen here is a edit to the person's post to make it more exceptable, not an outright ban.

Yes. The administrators should have allowed those morons to continue cluttering up the board with their pathetic whining and their petty insults. After all, they're only annoying, and they're only wasting people's time, right? And time is hardly an important thing for those of us with lives.

Instead of banning them, the administrators should have let them continue on as they were, and the administrators should have wasted their time and energy editing the flamers' many posts to make them more "exceptable". Congratulations, by the way, on inventing a new way to spell "acceptable".

As for the likes of persons like the Country Singer who love posting Unregistered and have access to this forums, is it possible for most forums, other than public ones, to disallow posting by those scum?

Seeing as how they only have the courage to attack, insult, offend others and speak their mind only when they're wearing a Winne-The-Pooh costume, truly I find it hard to imagine them as anything else except as contemptible cowards of the lowest kind (and very sadly, probably the alter-ego of someone who has posted on this thread before, or minimum, following it.)
