Just started playing this mod again (this time with Anomen in the party).

How long should I have to wait after gaining the Nether Scroll for Edwin to talk again? It's been at least 7 in-game days since I got the scroll, so I'm surprised not to have heard from Edwin. Does Ano's presence affect the timing of this next talk from Edwin? I don't remember it being this long the first time through (without Ano).

Anomen's presence in the party shouldn't make a difference, no. Do you mean it has been seven days and Edwin hasn't become Edwina yet? That sounds like some form of bug, it should only take three days.

Yes, it has been 7+ in-game days. Is there a code I can enter to fix this?

Three days?? Is it because of romance? I mean, on my comp the MOD is not installed, and it takes about 2-3 in-game weeks for Eddie to become Edwina... and about the same time to get back to his normal self...
I tire... I'll be MUCH MORE AGREEABLE with REST!!

I'll try to be clearer.

I have retrieved the Nether Scroll but Edwin has not had anything further to say about it (nor any LTs) in 7+ in-game days. I believe he should have one dialogue about the scroll, then a second, after which he turns into Edwina. I haven't had that first dialogue about the scroll yet.

Maybe I'll reload an earlier game (if I have one) and see if it works. Otherwise, I'm still open to CLUAConsole solutions!

I was talking about this as well - 2-3 weeks *than* the dialogs. Or maybe it's because of the version of my game?

Now that is very strange, it has never taken him that long to turn into Edwina for me, with or without the mod installed. I'm afraid I don't know what could be causing it.

*ponders* I recall reading about a bug in the game itself concerning this...Tell me...do you remember what dialog option you chose when Edwin got the Nether Scroll? I remember reading that one option broke the quest completely...

*giggle* *shy* forget about me, it's a russian pirate version after all (we haven't got the legal version sold at all). I just thought this timing is normal and was surprised by Serenajora's question.
And about my answer - of course I answered the best way "Edwin, calm down... ect..."

 Ack...my mistake, I quoted the wrong person. :whistling: This is what happens when I go too long without sleep.

Now, to Serenajora, I think if you told Edwin that the Nether Scoll was a 'party treasure' when you found it, the quest would become unfinishable. Keep in mind, though, I read about this a long time ago.

Nope, nope, as I remember, all the answers worked well for the quest. (Our Fargus used to ADD new bugs, not to correct the original ones :D )

Behold the wonder of readme files :) The "party treasure" bug is one of the Eddie bugs that Baldurdash fixes. The same readme also gives a fix for stalled Nether Scroll quests, which is below. :)

Quit BG2. Edit BALDUR.INI in the BG2 folder (Notepad works for this) and put the line
Debug Mode=1
under the [Program Options] line. Run BG2. Load the savegame. Press Ctrl-Space for a console. Put the pointer over Edwin so that his circle shimmers, then type EXACTLY into the console:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ScrollStudy","LOCALS",1)
and press Enter. This should set the variable properly. Save the game (it's recommended to use a new save slot in case something went wrong.) Quit BG2 and edit BALDUR.INI to remove the line that was just added. Then rerun BG2 and load the save and play normally.

*Smacks forehead* This was in the readme file? Sheesh, you'd think I never read those things!

I guess I must have picked the party treasure option (don't really remember). I tried your fix RavenBlack and it sort of works. I get the scroll talks, but Edwin turns into Edwina only briefly before turning back into his old self. The game recognizes him as Edwin, not Edwina. Oddly, the portrait remains Edwina's. Even odder, the portrait is different from the one I saw the last time through!

At any rate, I may reload an earlier save game and be more careful of what I say to Edwin. That seems to be the simpler solution even if it means replaying a bit.

I noticed you mentioning a different portrait. Do you have any other mod installed that involves Edwin? If so, there could be a conflict between mods that's causing your problem.

I'm not aware of any mods that involve Edwin that I've installed since I last played through this mod. I did install a bard mod called Song & Silence (or something). I don't see how that would affect anything in this mod, but you never really know until something pops up.

I found that different portrait interesting too. This "new" portrait is Edwin's, only modified slightly to make him look like a woman. The portrait I had the first time through the mod looked nothing at all like Edwin (except the lady had a nose ring). Personally, I think the modified Edwin portrait makes more sense than the one that bears no resemblance to him. Just my two cents. ^_^

Hmm. Do you have Ease of Use installed? If I remember right, there's a "Female Edwina" component that'll conflict.

I do have Ease of Use installed. However, I had it installed the first time I played the Edwin romance mod and had no problems. Or do you mean it will affect the portrait?

I have a number of mods installed, so I can't remember which mod had what component, or whether I installed any particular component. I believe the EoU mod allows you to pick and choose what you wish to install. But if there was a different portrait offered for Edwina, then I certainly would have installed it. It was odd that BioWare didn't put in a new portrait!

Gee, excuse me, t'is an offtop, I guesses, but still I'll ask.
Are there some different portraits of Lady Edwina? Could I possibly see them?
T'is just my version of the game doesn't let me install many MODs, even worse if they are big, but I like Edwina very much and would love to see her different portraits.
Don't understand me in the wrong way - I know, who Edwina is in real, I just like to use her face as my avatar in the game. (*sigh* HaerDalis doesn't love me, so I can have whatever face I choose... for now, I hope.)

The Ease of Use mod's 'female Edwina' component is most likely what is conflicting with the Edwin mod. The portrait you like is theirs, the Edwin mod only has the one - but I am sure you can get theirs from somewhere and use it for Edwin without having the component installed, Shadowkeeper should take care of that.
