I got to Meepo and talked to him. He took me to the queen (can't remember her name and I'm at work). I didn't let Meepo join my party and went ahead through the door to the new area. The strange thing was that I was able to leave the area while the door was still closed. :D This is leaving area TC0013 and entering TC0014 if my memory is correct.

I found Calcryx and talked to him. He didn't want to go with me and attacked me. After two hits he agreed to go with me and I accepted his surrender. But Calcryx stays an enemy and keeps attacking me, so the only solution is to kill him. No cutscene starts or anything.

After his surrender the variable (I believe it's named TalkedToCalcryx) is set to 2, but both Meepo and the queen check to see if the variable is 3. I cannot get the key from the queen. :wall: Can anyone point me in the right direction please so I can get past this and continue this great mod? I have tried to stand still and take Calcryx beating to see if he had a timer that would make him surrender but he just doesn't surrender. I entered with one party member and after the second successful hit he ran away to make sure that I don't try to hit the dragon before he surrenders but nothing works.

PS: I have reinstalled everything; BGII, ToB, ToB patch, Classic Adventures v0.3 and the patch v0.32

The .32 patch should have made this better. Normally people killed him before the cutscene started. I am not totally sure why you aren't getting the cutscene. Also, after talking to him, the group is supposed to stop attacking (doesn't always happen) and he is supposed to turn Neutral.

Was Meepo with you? The dragon has different dialogs depending on Meepo. This would give me a better idea of what to check for.

Meepo was not with me. I thought it was something with my installation, so I did a completely new installation. After trying 4 or 5 times I decided to ask here what might be wrong. I also can't find the start of the cutscene in NI. I have checked the area script Calcryx dialog file. In the dialog I can see that my characters should stop all actions and he should turn neutral but this never happens for me. I can keep a saved game from right before finding Calcryx and set the variable to the right value for now to test the rest of the mod.

Cutscenes normally start in dialogs or in the area scripts. All scripts (except for some from IWD) should have a filename of TC*.BCS. That makes it easier to find them.

The scripting for this scene became a little whacked when I had to have the possibility of Meepo being in the group as well as just being with the group. Some scripts will only work one way or the other, so there are some duplicates. I haven't tried this scene without Meepo is some time now so I do need to know if I broke something here. Thanks for reporting this.

I will have Meepo join my group and see if the cutscene starts. If it does we know it's the option of not having Meepo in your group. If it doesn't start it means something is going wrong in my install. :(

Having Meepo in the party started the cutscene. :new_thumbs:
Although I had a problem because my PC and Dirbert scored a critical hit just as it was starting and Calcryx was killed.

I looked at TCWDRG.BCS to find out why the cutscene starts with Meepo but not without him in the party. When Meepo is not in the party, he stays in TC0013 and is thus not in the same area as Calcryx. In the BCS these are the conditions that are being checked

IF
  Global("TalkedToCalcryx","GLOBAL",2)
  Exists("TCMeepo")
  !Dead("TCMeepo")
  !InParty("TCMeepo")

TCMeepo never exists on TC0014 so that is the problem. I changed it with NI in my game to

IF
  Global("TalkedToCalcryx","GLOBAL",2)
  !Dead("TCMeepo")
  !InParty("TCMeepo")

and it all works fine now. :coolthumb:

Here are the options:

If you don't talk to Meepo and get the quest from Yusdrayl -
A. You can tell the dragon you won't take him back (no Dirbert)
B. If Dirbert is in party, he will want to look at the dragon's treasure which starts a fight.

If you do talk to Meepo and get the quest:
A. Meepo should follow you into TC0014, joinable or not.
B. Either way, talking to dragon should have option to fight or subdue.
C. Having Meepo nearby will not allow for the option to ignore dragon, either Meepo will try to talk the dragon into going back or Dirbert causes fight, or you can be evil and kill dragon which pisses off Meepo.

Dirbert's dialog about dragon is not evil, he simple says why don't we look through his treasure. Since no dragon would ever allow people to steal their treasure, Calcryx attacks.

In your case, I am curious about why Meepo didn't follow you to TC0014. He should have unless you never talked to him.

I talked to Meepo and he took em to Yusdrayl. I got the quest from her to rescue Calcryx and she offered me to take Meepo with me and let him join my party. I said I didn't want him to join but that I could use a guide. He took me to the door and I went through. Meepo didn't show up in TC0014. Maybe it was because he had a dark green circle under him (not selected). Let me see if I have a save from right before I talked to Meepo and try some things.

Only real NPCs can move between areas when you do. I use a script to see if he is your guide and then add him to the TC0014 area next to you. So it shoulds like I screwed up that script again. Okay, will have to look at it next weekend, RL is keeping me away from this right now.

Ive got this bug to, i dont have Meepo with me, he didnt follow me as guide in the next zone, so i cant complete this quest :'( .

Also if i choice to response of directly attacking the Dragon it isnt any response, it say INVALID_LINK and then the dialogue box close and he is still blue ( talkable ) .. I use the lastest version + 34 patch.

Another worry, at the blighted three now, i come near the druid ( and the 2 last member of the previous party ), i havent tryed yet to surrender ( ^^ ), but if i choose to not give up i'm attacked by the 3 + some creature summoned by the druid, ive tryed first killing the druid, then the two charmed people and next the Three.
This way i got a talk with Ombre about murder.
On the other side if i kill the Three first i got a talk without response ( repetable ) from the druid and a lot of nasty creature where spawned, no way to win :'(...

( My game cant be screwed, its only BG2+ToB + Classical Adventure )

You don't need Meepo to finish the Calcryx quest. Just go on over to where he's held and talk to him. Then attack him into subdual when he refuses to go with you.

The "surrendering to the druid" thing is a joke. Don't do it. You did the battle the right way -- kill the druid and his puppets first, then the tree.

Hmm, ive tryed to let the dragon attack my party but it isnt any cutscene, after some seconds ( depend if i let my people hurt him or not ) he lay down, died..

So no way to complete this quest as far i can see.

The cutscene only happens if you talk to him first about surrendering to you. If not, he will fight to the death.
