my idea is that the pc gets infected with vampirism. this could effect dialogue, items, spells... ex: healing spells and items will not work on the pc. also romances could be effected.
Who infects him (a new NPC or Bodi)? Is it intentional?
Would like more material to sink ones teeth in.

But the pc can't die.
That's always bothered me. Imoen's a Bhaalspawn too, yet she can die and be resurrected, but the PC dies and it's POOF! Game over.

This is why it is Game Over when you die. It may be plausible to believe that most of your party members would drag your corpse to a Temple and pay the fee but you cannot guarantee that would happen if you are dead.
Imagine you are not playing a game and the only person you are in charge of is you. Them's the rules.

The PC is you, you have no control over the others in the party (in a RPing sense) so if you die you cannot then force someone else to Resurrect you as your ability to influence others is gone.

I understand that fact. That's not what bothers me.
What bothers me is the fact that Imoen can die and be resurrected. Aren't Bhaalspawn supposed to disintegrate upon death?
But of course, I'm going off-topic.

I'm a subscriber to the theory that Imoen is actually a grandchild rather than a child of Bhaal - it would explain quite a bit .That's always bothered me. Imoen's a Bhaalspawn too, yet she can die and be resurrected, but the PC dies and it's POOF! Game over.
