Does BDash-Weidu make the old BDash obsolete in any case ?
i.e. if i want to use BG1tutu, should i use the old BDash or this new BDash-Weidu before installing Tutu?

is Baldurdash-Weidu-1.4 a real "Baldurdash-Weidu" or should it be better named: "BGT-Baldurdash-Weidu"

It's a REAL BDash, it has absolutely no connection to BGT and it DOES make old BD absolete because it IS its WeiDU reincarnation.

1st.And, outside BP-BGT-etc environment, at which point should it be installed? First one, like the old version, or at the very end?

KD: I'd be happy to mirror it, with your permission, of course. Maybe that will cause more people to use it.

Wrong answer.
At the very end
In theory, as in case of some present troubles with 1 TS script, it can be installed at any point. But you will risk that some of later mods will overwrite fixed resources with possibly incorrect ones.

How come Baldurdash-WeiDU is not more prevalent? If it does everything the original Baldurdash does, then shouldn't it be more mainstream? Is it already included in any other mods?
KD: I'd be happy to mirror it, with your permission, of course. Maybe that will cause more people to use it.
Plz do it
I think it's not necessary to include in into anything as it was with the old one.

But then you run the risk of breaking someone else's code. A mod should be built off of a clean base. So if Baldurdash fixes errors, your mod should use it as a starting point. Otherwise, there will always be a conflict no matter which one was installed last.Wrong answer.
At the very end
With all the dialog changes that BG1NPC makes to BGT, I would want to have Baldurdash installed first. To me it is a game patch, not a mod patch.

This is why functions such as REQUIRE_COMPONENT exist, once the new fixpack is released we will be encouraging mod makers to utilise this check. Since all (I think, anyway) of the mods in the BGT/BP behemoth appear to request Baldurdash-WeiDU, why don't you start making those mods require it instead?

Well, we've got to convince KD to use it first first. I totally agree with SBB's line of thought. But then you run the risk of breaking someone else's code. A mod should be built off of a clean base. Have you all seen this? Perhaps this is one user's isolated experience, or perhaps Baldurdash-WeiDU needs to be tweaked?
As far as ppl will use unrevised mods that make their patches in a bold way of direct files copying or installing some stuff to IDS or 2DA without prior checks for some things existance we'll have all those complainings (1) and disabling of BD fixes after other mod installation(2).
But if all modders will modify their installation to PURE TRUE WEIDU I'll be the 1st voter for BD to be the first in line....

REQUIRE_FILE ~Data/25Dialog.bif~ ~Please install "Throne Of Bhaal" and the official ToB patch before installation of this mod.~
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/Animate.ids~ ~Please install the official ToB patch before installation of this mod.~
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/MusicList.ids~ ~Please install the official ToB patch before installation of this mod.~
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/CLASS.ids~ ~Please install the official ToB patch before installation of this mod.~
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/AreaType.ids~ ~Please install the official ToB patch before installation of this mod.~
REQUIRE_FILE ~override/Spell.ids~ ~Please install the Baldurdash fixpack before installation of this mod.~
CLASS.IDS comes with the OFFICIAL ToB patch as well as with ORIGINAL Baldurdash fixpack. If you chose to modify this somehow it's your problem but I am not going to remove the requirement of installation for both the patch and fixpack because they are essential. I'll better add in ReadMe the line instructing to install only the original Baldurdash fixpack untill you make the corresponding fixes and bring back CLASS.IDS. Thank you for your understanding.

What will be if some previously installed mod have biffed everything from \override\ then?
Sounds like something as 'old-style' and 'new-style'...

Exist baldurash-weidu installer even for BG1+TotSC?
I use BGT-weidu in latest release 0.99b3, can I install baldurash fixpacks for BG1+TotSC and Dudleyville before installing BGT-weidu? (according to readme I guess *no*... as it requires plain install, but I really want to know it for sure)
Same question as one before, but for BG2, can I install baldurash-weidu v1.4 for BG2+ToB before installing BGT-weidu?
I read somewhere, that baldurash is already incorporated in BP-BGT, but I'm not using BP stuff... so I rather ask. Thx a lot for answer.

Fixpacks and Dudleyville will not work with BGT-WeiDU, no chance of it soon either.Hi folks, I have just few questions related to topic. So thank you for answers.

BD-WeiDU should work when installed before BGT-WeiDU.

I exchanged the text part "Baldurdash English Text Update Pack for ToB" of the mod with a german text update written by MK.
It was not possible to combine both textupdates in baldurdash, because the english and german string updates are different.
Also the bigger part of the mod is the text update and no one need both languages. So my suggestion is to make two different downloads:
English: Baldurdash-WeiDU v1.4
German: Baldurdash-WeiDU v1.4 german
And the german version has an additional soundfix.

Which means that you guys used BD as your base for building BGT-Weidu right? When I finally get to the BG1 banter pack, I need to make sure that either I make the banter pack with the assumption that the player has already installed BD or I have to make sure that the banter pack doesn't break something if you install BD later.BD-WeiDU should work when installed before BGT-WeiDU.
