Maybe the name Kangaxx is derived from the name of ring?

Or perhaps Kangaxx might have been an unfortunate victim of the ring, with he renaming himself to something containing 'gaxx' out of obsession of the ring.

Hmm... a person named Kan corrupted by the ring named after Gary Gygax... maybe they just made Gary into a lich too.

Both Kangaxx and the Ring of Gaxx are named for Gary Gygax. Any hardcore D&D player should know this, flat out. Gary Gygax was very fond of naming things with anagrams of his own name. If you don't know at least this much then you don't deserve to play his game... or any other role playing game because he is the father of them all. If you don't know who Gary Gygax is then at LEAST look him up on wikipedia right NOW. The Ring of Gaxx was an incredibly powerful item, but you had to remember to keep it off of your hand when not using it and to give it long periods without use in order to reset the countdown to being transmogrified (or embrace the coming transformation as one character of mine did). All role players must know who Gygax and Kaye were.
