As this mod is aimed primarily at Big Picture (in all its various incarnations) players I thought I'd repost this announcement here, for your convenience (and my download stats).

The Mod Kit Remover is a WeiDU mod that will remove all mod kits from the character creation screen. The mod was primarily made because The Darkest Day fills all available kit slots, but players wished to use kits from other mods when playing it. Once the Mod Kit Remover has been installed, BioWare's kits will remain selectable and the mod kits will remain installed for use by NPCs and previously created PCs. Any changes made by other mods to BioWare's kits will remain intact, and kits from other WeiDU mods can be installed and be selectable at character creation.

a very useful tool but a kit remover which allows you pick and choose which kits you want to remove would be even better. :shifty:

If I could do that I would, but it isn't possible.

Hmm. Actually you can remove all mod kits, if you throw the original K_x_x.2da files to your override. There is a kit remover somewhere around based on this. This could even work with other kit mods (installed after removal of others) if the mod edits the file in your override instead of possible biffed ones. So dunno.

Nah, incorrect :P. I've written a silly little program to do this months ago, but afterwards I realized that it's almost easier to do the editing by yourself with notepad. And I'm not really good at writing GUIs (I havent progressed far enough in my studies yet, so my prog was a simple commandline util), and there is also NI to do it and in addition it has many many many more functions. But nevermind me, I'll check out your stuff eventually ;)

I do throw the original k_x_x.2da file into the override. I just happen to do it in an easily uninstallable fashion.

This one? Yeah, I'm aware of it.

Notice I named it "Mod Kit Remover" not "TDD Kit Remover," there's a reason for that.

I meant that it isn't possible in a WeiDU mod. WeiDU can't remove lines from a file which is necessary to remove an individual kit. I could request the feature but I don't think it is worth Wes' effort.

But it does the same, doesn't it? You are right about it's naming however it might get confusing.

I agree. I did that in C++. I posted it around somewhere here, I can find you the link if you are interested, but again it's not much harder to do it by hand...

Oh, and peace  :thumb:
