[Cantrip]

As some of you may know, Moonfruit is back and he has his own site.
Imp. Battles and Ruad (eventually) are being worked on there.

Anyway, back to the poll - Don't vote according to power or somesuch, but by what TYPE of items would you like to see - comment on the power in your post.

Examples for items, bearing in mind these are only drafts (excepting the Red Cloak):

Quest -
Shade
(Need: Shadow Dragon Wardstone, 20,000 GP + ???)
Once per day: Summon Shadow(s) or "special" - (40% 3 Shadow Wolves, 35% 2 Shadows, 20% 1 Shadow Fiend or 5% Cast "Wail of the Banshee" )


NPC -
Red Cloak (Already in mod)
(Need: Red cloth, prot. from normal weapons scroll + else)
Grants Immunity to Normal Weapons.
Only usable by Evil Mages.


Uber -
Stopper Watch ? (ToB)
(Need : Jan Jansen (18th level illusionist at least), 1 Timestop scroll, 20 Haste scrolls, 20 Slow scrolls, 40,000 GP)
At will : Haste \ Slow (As 10th level mage)
Once per day : Timestop (1 round only)

Unique\Joke -
Bunny Figurine of Wondrous Power
(Need: Freed the genie in Chateau Irenicus, 2 Limited Wish Scrolls, 15,000 GP)
Twice per day: Summon a horde (90% bunny horde (1 turn duration), 10% Werebunny horde (3 rounds duration))


The results will affect the items he will have, so be careful with what you wish for...

To be honest, I would like Ruad to make BALANCED items.
Sorry, but most of the current content does not fall into this cathegory. At first I was overjoyed that we will get another (and hopefully way less overpowering) custom item-maker beside the weimeric Cromwell, but sadly Ruad became quite the equal of C. when it comes to uber items.

Any item suggestions are to be posted on the forum in moonfruit's site, or, preferably - sent directly to me for review and patching (along with the creator and Moonfruit).
You will be included in the credits if you post an item, rest assured.

So, T.G.M, if you don't like the items a they are, suggest something better!
This is not meant to offend in any way.

P.s - I actually think that some of the items are unbalanced, and wish to amend that, myself.

That said, Moonfruit is striving to make Imp. Battles less cheesy, so I suppose the same will be done with Ruad...

Getting the scrolls might be possible... only it seems a bit too unlikely.

In PnP D&D you can wear more than 1 Ion Stones at a time. How about the ability to combine Ion stones? Get two and have them combined into an Icon of 2 stones and be able to wear them, then get a 3rd and add it to the other 2 and so on.

Also, how about a upgrade for Mauler's Arm (say combine it with Skullcrusher +3 plus money and some gems) and 1 for the Reflection Shield +1 (say with Shield of Harmony +2 plus money and gems)?

The ioun stone idea isn't feasible, because you'll need to create an item for every combination. Now we have like 8\9 different ioun stones, the amount is quite large...
If you want specific ones - just tell me which ones.

Seeing as how you can get 3 demon hearts in the planar sphere and only need 1, what about a ring of magic resistance. Demon heart and 3 rings of protection +1 = 1 ring 25% magic resistance. Handy for those who don't use a shield and not over powered.

I'd personally like to see more unique and original items - PST is a great source of inspiration for these .

Another idea from the chest full of used items in my current game. what if you could combine a number of the keys that you no longer need to create a skeleton key that could be used by non thieves to unlock things. A skeleton key or ring of knocks, something along those lines. You need say 5 keys to create the item which is the equivalent of the spell knock.

I would echo the suggestion that items be carefully considered for in-game balance... and making an item really hard to make by having rare components and high cost should not be permission to make it overly powerful.

One suggestion (NPC item) might be, for example:

Avariel Feather Token

Blurb: The origins of this rare and special item are lost in the annals of Avariel history, but it is thought that a compassionate Avariel Healer first devised it as a way for those unfortunate Avariel who lost the power of flight (through accident or illness) to still experience the exhilirating rush of wind across their skin without leaving the ground, both through speed of movement and becoming one with the air whenever they desired.

The small feather-like token (actually the golden ribbon "core" of a King's Tear gem) is worn as an ioun stone, and flits and floats around its wearer's head. Unfortunately, the ethereal nature of the item's abilities means that its user does become rather more susceptible to dangerous changes in temperature while it is equipped.

Components: One King's Tear Gem, Air Elemental Statue (from Chateau Irenicus), Scroll of Haste, Scroll of Improved Haste, Scroll of Conjure Air Elemental, 7500gp

Powers:
Movement Rate increased by 2 (i.e. half-strength Boots of Speed)
Improved Haste, duration 1 turn (1/day)
Shape Change: Air Elemental, duration 1 turn (1/day)
-10% resistance to cold and fire while equipped.

Useable by: Avariel Elves only (i.e. Aerie)

Nice Idea, but there's already a Knock Wand in Ruad, and there's an armor you can make from all those keys - which gives you a 60% bonus to open locks.

Oh, and the ring seems a tad too powerful...
How about:
Ring of Defiance
(Need: 3 Rings of Protection +1, 1 Demon Heart, 3 Scrolls of Magic Resisance (Do they exist? If not, some will be added, found in Lavok's Sanctum... ))
Thrice per day: Cast Magic Resistance (30% Resistance, 8 rounds duration)

Oops sorry about the key thing, haven't come across Ruad so didn't know about the the options. The ring sounds good though, selfish really, I can't use the shield of magic resistance (2 handed sword) and I keep the belt of inertial resistance for my bard. But I do have a chest full of quest items so I'll see what else I can come up with. How about...

The shield of Amaunator. Saving Grace +3, Symbol of Amaunator, Tome of Amaunator, Sun Gem, 5 scrolls of healing.

The shield bestows it's owner with negative plane protection.

The Cloak of Illusions

Components: A Nymph Cloak, two diamonds, Fireshield Blue Scroll, Fireshield Red Scroll, 5000 gold and the blood of a tiefling (maybe 20 HP damage for Haer'Dalis)

The owner gets charisma +3, an improved bard song and can cast Mirror Image and/or Blur once a day.

Due to its chaotic nature it can only be used by tieflings (well, Haer'Dalis)

Tieflings are not necessarily Chaotic; they just have Evil tendencies. I'd expect the PC to have even stronger Evil tendencies, given that (s)he is the child of a LE deity.
