For installing CTB to BP-BGT, do I just need the core and game files, or do I also need CtB4BGT-BP? If so, do I need v1, v2, or both?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Caretaker1,

As you are planning to install DSotSC too, you have to make sure you install CtB first. To make sure it recognises BGT you need to use a small batch file which can be found here. To save the bach file right click on the link, select save target as... When it opens up the download window, make sure you select all files instead of text files in the drop down list, and remove the .txt extension.

Run the batch file before installing CtB and then install DSotSC. Happy Gaming.

In other words:

1. Install BGT-BP-NeJ (okay, with or without NeJ)

2. Patch completey.

3. Run CtB-BGT-BP-Prep.bat (found in the DSotSC 1.60 package).

4. Install CtB (requires both files).

5. Install DSotSC.

6. Install other mods. If installing NTotSC, install this next. Otherwise, you can install BoneHill, BG1NPC (v8), Grey Clan, etc.

7. Almost forgot, install Yacomo's Worldmap.

Thanks for the responses fellas, but I'm pretty comfortable with the order and the necessary batch file. Actually, let me put it another way. There are five files that I'm seeing:

The batch file
The core files
The game files
Ctb4BGT-BP
Ctb4BGT-BPv2

I get that the batch needs to be there first. Then the core + game files. But what are the last two? Are they different versions of the core/game files, or are they something else? If they're different, do they need to be installed?. If they need to be installed, which one (or both)?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need these files if you are installing DSotSC. CtB is using the same area names as BGT for some of the new areas and these files would make sure you saw the correct areas in BGT. These areas that are overwritten by CtB are in DSotSC (and I think Ascension64 is putting the new area names only in the new BGT-WeiDU so they can be removed from DSotSC). So do not worry about these two files at all.

Correct. So it really depends on your plans for DSotSC. If you are installing it, drop those compatibility files, they are already included. If you aren't going to install DSotSC, than you need the CtB4BGT-BPv2 so you can fix your worldmap. You shouldn't need version 1 at all.

Thanks for the info guys.

So basically, so long as I'm installing DSOTSC afterwards, I only need the three files. Got it.
