I've been finally convinced to play this game, it's okay so far, but (no matter how hard I try) I just can't beat 0:41:xx time at the swooptrack! I'm always close, but can't get my time under 0:42. Is there a trick or a playing strategy I'm unaware of? I've seen a link to an easy swoopracing mod, but that's cheating of course (the thing I try to avoid). So, how did you beat that time? I've tried at least 2 dozen times up to now, my best time is 0:42:31. This is really annoying.

I hear the game is too bugged to let you win.

Actually, it is not. It is quite possible to beat every record in every swoop race (but I think you are referring to the one on Telos right now), but it is much harder than in kotor1. I admit though, there are a few bugs in dialogues that prevent you to win, but it seems you haven't faced that problem.
As for a working strategy, my only advice is to try to race as flawlessly as possible - this means that if you crush on something (even a little loss of speed counts) or miss more than ONE accelerator, you won't beat the record. ;)

High folks....

Its not realy cheating but definitly a kind of it ;) i never tried it but i read that it is possible to win any race in this way:

head straight to the nearest purple obstacle as close as possible then hit <pause>. quit the race and youll get the time you quit the race as your finishing time...

hope you can understand my english

There is a problem with this "solution" - there is a great chance that you'll get the "sorry, you'll have to finish the race to qualify" message. And not only that, every time you re-enter the race and finish with a new record, you'll get the very same message, and won't receive any credits or better position.

That may work on xbox, I don't know, but it doesn't work on pc version. At all. If someone wants to beat the tracks fast, just dload the easy swoop mod, much less trouble.

If I remember correctly, you can't beat the swoop race record on the city planet.(Haven't played the game so long I forgot the name)

That is, until you disable the robot. :shifty:
