While pootling around various forums, I have been surprised by the levels and types of spoilers that abound for NPC mods that are still some way from completion. Personally, I am not planning on giving any more away in advance than I already have (my approach erring on the side of conservatism? I could never see me wanting to spoil more than option 3 ?Basic Spoilerage? from the above list).
However, it did make me curious as to what attitudes people out there in the NPC mod-playing world have towards providing spoilers in advance of the release of a mod. Do regular ?leaks? of spoilery info, even if it means fewer surprises in the final mod release, help to keep people interested in a mod and its development? Do you sometimes get annoyed at how freely a mod spreads so much information around that you feel like you have already played it before it is released? Or, conversely, have you seen mods that stay so quiet during development that you forget they are there until their release, by which time you have lost interest?
Like I said above, I am not going to change my own minimal-spoilerage approach. I am just being nosey.
