I'm not sure if you've noticed but even humans often birth more than one young at a time.

I imagine very few, if any, races breed for pleasure. Several have sex for pleasure but I seriously doubt they'd actually give birth for pleasure...

Kobolds are notorious breeders, the Drow of Menzo have been taking Kobold slaves from the Clawrift for ???? years, yet the kobold population is barely affected...
