Having just completed the game (It only took me a month or two... heh :) ) there are a few things I'd like to discuss. First of all there are a few large gaps left out in the story which makes it very hard to follow - for example why you go to Malachor V at the end, or even how you know to go there? When I left Ravager after defeating Darth Nihilus (who was laughably easy - I dont see how Visas' description of him is was at all justified) it just showed a clip of the Ebon Hawk flying to some unknown green-ish planet and crashing.
Another thing towards the end; what was up with the little confrontation between G0T0 and Bao-Dur's remote?
What was the point of Mira wandering around and encountering Hanharr?
Was Kreia's presence at the start ever explained?
Why, at the end, does Kreia just die, and then you see a clip of the Ebon Hawk flying off? Did they just leave Mira behind? What about G0T0 and Bao-Dur's remote?

All these things made the game rather disjointed for me, and in the end I didnt really enjoy it that much. I mean if the game was so buggy (and the patch does sweet FA) that I missed these things, or if they were cut out due to time restrictions then I dont really think its very acceptable and I expected a lot better - I certianly enjoyed KotOR1 a lot more. Another let down was how rediculously easy everything in the game was - the hardest enemy I fought were the three lightsabers Kreia materialises at the end.
Although with that said the game did offer a lot of new and fun experiences, and the story was still interesting and it had enough twists to keep me surprised regardless of how difficult it was to keep up with.

Thats just my opinion, does anyone else think the same?
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.

I agree with Tom on this. It took me a while to figure out what the hell was going on, and there are more than a few holes in the plot itself. Somewhere around Nar Shadaa the game starts getting extremely disjointed and just... confusing.

Shame, really, it seems Bioware started out with a nice intricate plot, a bunch of very complex and fascinating support characters, and a really great idea for a campaign, but somewhere in the middle of the game's development they realized they didn't have time to really explain it all, so they just shoved it in a fancy box and called it finished. If they had just spent a bit more time polishing it properly it might have been way better than KotOR 1.

I can't say I didn't enjoy the game because I totally did; but KotOR 1 had a far superior story, and it was told magnificently. (The part where Revan's true identity is revealed was just... brilliant). And the endings for KotOR 1 (whether LS or DS) were SO much more satisfying. The endings in KotOR 2 were just so... bleh.

I liked the improved user interface and the nicer robes, but the added feats and powers (and the extra levels) were unnecessary, because like Tom said, none of the battles were particularly challenging.

Both games were equally buggy to me. I learned the hard way to have more than one backup save.

Having a highly active imagination can be very taxing on the purity of one's soul at times...

I find you amusing... in a "What the hell is wrong with you?" kind of way...

Yeah, the story did have some loose ends, like some more explaination about Kreia.
I must say that I missed Bioware's touch.

Also, my game wasn't really buggy, but it did crash from time to time.
After an eternity away from you all, I've returned.

Although the endings suck and there are some loose ends, I think KotOR2 far surpass KotOR1, why?

KotOR1 is too classic, too unoriginal, too "light vs. dark", whereas KotOR2 also raise some questions that makes you think.

And if Darth Nihilus isn't as tough as I thought he would be, who cares? The roleplaying is what's most important, the combat comes in second.

I agree however that Obsidian (aka Black Isle) should have finished the game before publishing it just to make a release date...

I actually do like the ambigous setting in KOTOR 2 much more than K1. K1 is typically a struggle between LS and DS but K2 touches more than that. That aside, I hate the K2 ending with a passion and the storyline deteriorates into some broken parts which is really a great pity.

Nihilus wass a joke, for what Visas said of her master, he certainly did not make me feel scared. Sion wass a nice touch but he could have been so much more. Kreia was really interesting to me since she was the most developed character in the game.

Bao-Dur's Remote and GOTO belongs to the droid planet quest and HK's supposed to come blast GOTO's ass depending on how you do the Droid Planet quest. Of course, the whole thing was snipped off from the game among other stuff.

Mira's supposed to go with the other Lost Jedi to find the Exile in M5. She met Hanharr there and we know who left Hanharr at M5.

That may be part of my problem. I hate Kreia with a passion, I didnt take her with me anywhere and only spoke with her to get the various force abilities she gives and to refocus the crystal.

Same here Tom. I can't stand all the cryptic nonsense she spouted and I only used/communicated with her for practical reasons. Kreia's plot and manipulations became obvious to me during the cutscenes she had with Disciple. Disciple actually knew who she was.

Although she's not quite the nana-type of grandma I like, she's a rather unique Jedi. She's even more 'weird' than Jolee because despite the Exile's apparent gift in forging Force bonds, Kreia's alignment cannot be affected. And if you check out some of her dialogues carefully, alot of things she said, made me think. hehe. Like the part where she pointed out that an act of Evil/Kindness sents echos and the Exile should wait for the right moment to send the right echo through the Force.

And if you put her on the charcter that makes her use her force powers, she uses at least ten different boost powers for you and her especially if you use the recommend button when upgrading.
