It's seems the forum is split on this one... I personally think a new character would suit KOTOR best, offering the chance for a new storyline and to seek out Revan and the Exile. Others however feel that KOTOR 3 needs rounding up, and in doing so, picking up where Lucasarts left off in KOTOR 1. What do you guys think?

New char, it means they can do whatever they like rather than being restricted. Theres nothing stopping them from adding revan/the exil as party members though (although the Exile may cause some problems because of the name...)
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.

I prefer a new character but if the game developer (whoever it'll be) decides to use either Exile and Revan, that'll be fine with me as well, as long as they come up with a good storyline and a complete one.

I want to see Revan back in the spotlight as I have grown rather fond of his/her character :)

I vote for a new character, but I would be nice if your new character is able to meet Revan and the Exile.
Maybe importing a save game from Kotor to determine their alignment.
After an eternity away from you all, I've returned.

I voted for new character but it would be cool to replay both Revan and the Exile. Trouble is, I would be to highlevel to quickly and I like working my way up. But any one of the three is fine by me.

Not voting, not bothered, just want the story to be good, make sense and have a fun game

Yes a "complete" storyline would be welcome, the previous two seemed to just end suddenly after the last battle, no mention of the aftermath, aswell as many gaps inbetween... guess it leaves it up to your imagination hehe

----spoiler----just a bit

I was thinking, about kotor 3. In Kotor 1 there was revan, wich we later on was explained by kreia that he was the heart of the force. The exile everyone told as that they could see the death of the force in him, the end. To every end there is a beginning. I was thinking of a plot here, In jedi knight 2: jedi outast there is a jedi pit or something, can't remember completely what it was named, but the it prinsiple was either a boost in the force, major boost, or it could give the force to those who don't have it. A young jedi or sith woman, searching for places of power, she finds artifacts and hide them, hide them trough the force so no one can sence them. In time she finds the jedi pit, she is now pregnant, with the new character, and she steps in to the pit. Nothing happens, she sits in it, meditating for a long time, nothing happens. At last she gives up, when she walk out of the pit she discovers she no longer have the force. When she gets to the spaceship she gets weaker and weaker, on the way home to the jedi academy, sith academy or wherever, she dies. but In the last second, Another ship arives, they couldn't save her, but they saved the child. Now, 18years later, we find a boy, with no force, and a jedi\sith comes to the planet, he felt a disturbance in the force (they allways do). but can't find out what it is. Soon he sees an empty shell in a young boy, as if he should have the force, but for some reason, doesn't. They start talking, meditating together, the jedi\sith is searching in the boy for answers. Suddenly, he sees a spire og force, something that never was there before. Shouldn't be there, and the jedi starts teaching him. In time the kid grows stronger.

It's just a beginning, but tell me what you think.
Other things I want for kotor 3 is more randomised parts, for example, that the jedi og sith that comes, that it is random if he is jedi or sith. I liked the influence system, but it should be moore complex, and that you could allways be talking to them so you can earn their trust. And things like rain should be in the game, and when it rains it changes the dialog. And that some dialogs is completely random, so that every time you play the game it's a new one. The fighting should be a little more complex. I don't like it that every time they fight now, the lightsaber goes through the person several times, wich should kill them. I also think that they could fix every hole in kotor 2. The end of it explains nothing, I never understood how he found out where revan had been. I also want followers in the game, or fans of you. So that you can start an academy for yourself. Just some thoughts.

I think Revan, as his dark past can keep elements of the Dark side alive.... I think they should do KOTOR 3 in a sort of Baldurs Gate style... you could start at like level 9-10 (since revan only ever became a knight) and go on from there. The exile should be a party member who you need to help you do something (or form a link with, like Bastilla in KOTOR 1)

No. I'm tired of playing characters whose story is like this: "You have had a memoryloss and is therefore brought back to level 1".

I mean, jesus, we played a level 1 WAR HERO in the last game.

My Revan shouldn't be brought from level 20 to level 10.

Let's have a new character with no significant background, just a padawan or the like, and let's form our own history.

Doesn't solve the level issue. If you mean that you would meet them when you were approximately the same level, then what about dialogue?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I liked Kreia.

More than that ***** Bastila anyways.

Since it seems that Lucas has a "thing" with the trilogies, I think that KOTOR III will be the end of the KOTOR series. It would seem that the most logical direction for the game to take would be for a new character to meet up with the two previous characters and somehow bring some kind of balance to a seemingly chaotic force. (No more echos, holes in the force, yadda, yadda). One of the hardest things about how to do this this is how the characters will look (as mentioned previously in this post). As some have mentioned, Revan should not be hard, just throw a cloak over him and...Boom..instant character. The exile will be a little more tricky, it will be interesting to see how they handle that one. But either way, it is inevitable that a new character will be the main focus of KOTOR III. You have to look at it from a game developer standpoint. You want to appeal to all possible players, not just those who have played KOTOR I and II. The way to do that is to make the gamer feel like he/she can jump in at any point in the series and that they will instantly understand the backstory and purpose of the game. I personally feel like you should have to play KOTOR I and II to play KOTOR III (if it ever gets developed), but I just know that is not the way game develpers think.

One thing I am very excited about is the new enemy. It was suggested in KOTOR 2 that Revan was in search of the "real Sith Lords". I think it will be interesting to see how that develops. They have the potential to create the most evil and powerful sith characters yet. I hope they take advantage of that. (By the way I was really dissapointed in KOTOR 2, and the "pecking order" of the sith Lords. Kriea should have died first....).
