for those who start a new game it would be possible to start the game at the ending of tob and then let the players choose their way.
well this is only my opinion
they could start the bg3 story with something like being sealed into a little child by other gods that hate you

It might be interesting to have a sequel which imports your old game, purely for the purpose of reading variables about the state of the world. I mean without it being a direct follow-on - different protagonist, plot, etc. That way there could be some continuity according to decisions made by the child of Bhaal in the original game, without being just a cheesy continuation of the same old thing.`nother thing to make bg3 a sequel would be to either import your old tob character (with the way you decided to take imported too) and then link the story together at some time.

I might add that this may well be the final state of things. Remember Fallout 3... nada came out of that project.

Poking Atari for BGIII would, sadly, be like poking God for Judgement Day. Unless Atari actually makes something worthwhile for a change.

the game falls flat in terms of system and storyline. The combat sys is unbalanced, you only use physical disciplines becouse the whole thing is battle oriented. You can't choose your clan, you're automatically a Brujah. The physical disciplines and Majesty (yes, on higher levels it can induce paralysis in your opponents via your grace in combat..very usefull) along with sorcerous powers are the best bet.
Plotline...alltogether linear. VER linear, the dialogue options do not really make the plot differ. Infact, they don't. They only influence your humanity, but the missions will always be the same, but boy, they are perfectly presented in your face. You can easily forget your frustration about your immensely limited control. However, theere are always long periods of fighting what most of the time kill your interest.
Bloodlines was linear but not in the same way. Where Redemption offered only one line, Bloodline offers many lines with different outcomes, and the plot is comletely believable (your limited choice is influenced by the Prince who uses his own powers to use / command you should you try to step out of the plot, enforcers are caled in, and rampage is not tolerated because both the humans will call either the police -firepower kills vampires, or the Sheriff will deal with you -either way, he is the end boss-).
Bloodline had another thing what beats Redemption. Lack of violence solutions. At least in the firs half of the story, social characters can manipulate anyone - with a perfect sense presentation. too bad the game goes into a fight mess from the half, though it is vaguely explained.
The Nosferatu warrens and the sewers take one day to finish, without any source of proper blood, it's exactly the axis of the game, God aside from that, the game was a 7/10 by me.
Redemption has only one thing goinmg for it. Awesome characterisation, and the dialogue's are actually worth watching and listening to. But...

I like Civilization...
Sorry! Forgot about old Civ. I play and mod that game more than any other. The surprising part is that once Atari stopped publishing the game, Civilization IV came out, and it is way worse than #3. But actually, Atari is only bad at RPG, they have made some good stuff otherwise.
And Shang Tsung:
Redemption was all new thing back then. Making a game like it was sure to fail if it wasn't combat oriented. Just like Bloodlines wouldn't sell much if it wasn't made for the 1st-person-shooter type people.
Sadly, 1st-person-shooter people almost rule the market
As a CRPG, I'd give Redemption 7/10, and Bloodlines 9/10 (with Planescape: Torment being a 10/10).

Fahrenheit is published by Atari, and it's absolutely fantastic. I've heard great things about Sid Meier's Pirates! too, and of course Unreal Tournament 2004 has a huge number of fans (though I'm not really into multi-player myself).

@Grunker: Was it truely aweful? I'm very disappointed, I really was anticipating it.

@Nightmare: My parents have played Pirates! and it seems to be their favorite game. (and that's saying alot, because most games do not interest them) I would play it myself, but my computer is to outdated to support it.
@Grunker: Was it truely aweful? I'm very disappointed, I really was anticipating it.
@Nightmare: Again, I said Atari was responsible for some lame RPG (Temple of Elemental Evil, Neverwinter Nights, Pool of Radiance). They can do all the other stuff without problems. Just like EA. If you were looking to create a sportsgame, let them do it, but RPG? Nah.
@Discharger: It's not BAD, it's just not as good as the third. It seems as though they've tried to fix a lot of things that weren't broken to begin with, implementing alot of things that wasn't needed, but just made the game worse. The religion-thing they've implemented is one of the only things that is an improvement compared to #3.

"The righteous need not cower before the drumbeat of human progress. Though the song of yesterday fades into the challenge of tomorrow, God still watches and judges us. Evil lurks in the datalinks as it lurked in the streets of yesterday, but it was never the streets that were evil." - Sister Miriam Godwinson, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

There are always rumors about a BG3 in the works. I say no to another sequel. Let the honored champion rest in peace.
Agreed. And we don't want any Bhaalspawn wee kids, either, to step up. The story's rather very finished by now. (If someone INSISTS on it, I guess their protagonists in other games could serve as Bhaalspawnspawn. I personally think that's just a tiny bit lame, but to each their own.)
theacefes: You have to be realistic as well, you can't just be Swedish!
