Have a small problem with the soul stone from Sendai, it's in Jon's inventory, but it can't be removed. I know only he can use it and it kind of eliminates the risk of accidently getting rid of it, but if it can't be moved, whats the point of the abilities in them?

Thanks

Well, this soulstone is a tricky item. We did not want to clutter the npc's 'item' slots -- Irenicus already has the helm slot used by unremovable mask. Yet the soulstone had to have some 'material representation'. I know it was not the best solution... But bascally the ability is applied as a permanent spell the moment JI gets the soul off the Bhaalspawn of his choice. The stone is just a pretty trinket. It is an argueable solution, but making it an unremovable necklace or ring seemed worse.

Freedom cannot be equated with goodness, virtue, or perfection. Freedom has its own unique self-contained nature; freedom is freedom ? not universal goodness. Any confusion or deliberate equalization of freedom with goodness and excellence is in itself negation of freedom, and acceptance of the path of restraint and enforcement.

Not that I'll be taking it, but I guess the same goes for the Deva Spark? I tried convincing Jon even after the Maze quest and couldn't turn him. Still snatched my soul at the end, starting to get frustrating  <_<

Well, how's your checklist? Work with Jon through the conversations. Don't let Vongoeth take Marlowe's soul. If you accept that quest, don't leave Amkethran before completing it. Complete the Deva quest with Jon, and let him decide for himself about taking the soul.

Or you could just not agree to giving Jon your sibling's soul during negotiations. Even if you fail to redeem him, it won't backfire on you.

Let him decide?

... damn, that explains where I went wrong then, because I accomplished all the other plot points. Oh well, time to give it a third try, thanks guys.

One more thing. The first time around when Jon asks for one of your sibling's soul, you might want to save some trouble and maneuver the discussion to let him decide about taking Balthazar's soul. It will give you time to work through the other plot points. By then, you can be certain he will decide not to take Balthazar's soul.
