One thing that's always bugged me is the fact that while most classes in SOA have kits, the Barb, Sorc, and Monk do not.  Also, you can't multi/dual-class as any of these, nor are there any standard NPCs with any of these as classes.  I am aware of the Tashia sorc mod, (I should be aware, since I use it).  Other than that I'm not really sure what mods of this type are out there.  I have also found the berserk ability to be highly undesirable, since it means that the character being pumped up by it, might just attack you the whole time.  If someone is already working on something, or something is already out of this nature, ie, kits, please let me know, since even things like the Darkest Day don't have kits of this nature.  On a side-note, I keep finding all of these mods that only work with TOB, which I don't have.  Is there a way for me to fix this, or is it just something I get to live with?  (yes, I know that last bit sounded whiney, but sometimes I just can't help it...)

It's not possible to let Barbarians, Monks or Sorcerers have any more kits. It's hardcoded in the game engine. :(

The solution would be to buy ToB. Just about every mod now uses something from ToB (creature, spell, animation, whatever), so you aren't going to find many that either don't require it, or were built without it so the author knows you don't need it.

As for the kits, the game engine doesn't allow for kits on those classes. To do this, someone would have to make kits off another class (like fighter) and give that kits abilities like the three you asked about. The problem with that is the XP levels, spells, and item use would all be based on that other class also.

Dude(-ette), go buy ToB. It's well worth it, and can't be that expensive really. You're not gonna get any sympathy by NOT using it. If you need suggestions on where to get it cheapest, open a new thread.

There are "kit-ish" Sorcerers in The Art of Weaving section of http://www.rpgdungeon.net/cms/

And there's an option in Ding0's Tweak Pack that allows dual-classing Wild Mages.

EDIT: the only NPCs I've used with berserker ability are Minsc and Korgan. I've always had ToB installed. Neither of them ever lost control of themselves. Is this a change made by ToB?

I'm not sure, but using Minsc's Enrage can result in a berserk state (his circle becomes yellow and he goes out of control).

That's strange, Korgan does not lose control, but as soon as Minsc sees enemies while enraged, his circle should become yellow and he should become an uncontrollable killing machine.Posted Image

Indeed, they are using a different ability, only their names are similar.

This never happens on my build. No yellow cirlcle, no lose of control. I think I know why: ever since I learned about the Alternate BG2 NPCs (lvl1npcs.zip) over at http://www.fortuneci...s/winelodge/79/ I always been changing Minsc from a Ranger to a Berserker. Since Berserkers can control their rage... voila.

Most famous NPC mod, I believe is Kelsey. He is also a sorcerer. Don't know of a barbarian. Aklon is a monk, but unfinished, just like my own Zartran is. Anishai is a one day NPC monk and you have Kiara (she comes with another NPC who's a wild mage, something with a Z...) who's a monk.

I have also found the berserk ability to be highly undesirable, since it means that the character being pumped up by it, might just attack you the whole time.

Minsc Berserk is an inniate ability, due to him being from rasheman. The berserker rage of Korgan is controlable in an unmodded ToB game. Minsc is uncontrolable in berserker state in an unmodded ToB game. He really goes beserk and gets a yellow circle. I don't know which mod would change it. I have many installed and Minsc remains uncontrolable (which is more RP like in my eyes). I do know of the NPC kit mod, which changes Korgan's kit and therefor he gains a 'rage' ability instead of berserker ability (name and picture only change, it does still the same)

On a side-note, I keep finding all of these mods that only work with TOB, which I don't have.  Is there a way for me to fix this, or is it just something I get to live with?  (yes, I know that last bit sounded whiney, but sometimes I just can't help it...)

Kelsey has an SoA only part, as does Keto. However, like the people say in here. ToB shouldn't be expensive and a lot of mods just use spells from ToB, scripiting stuff, animations. Therefor they most of the time need ToB.

Hope this helped
