If anyone has a solution please share it, I have other programs that will not work properly with older versions, so going back to 1.42 or whatever would not be ideal for me. Thanks.

Hi, sorry can't give you a solution to your problem, but I can tell you that I do have the latest beta of NI running with 1.5 and it works fine. So it isn't 1.5 itself which is causing the problem. If anyone has a solution please share it, I have other programs that will not work properly with older versions, so going back to 1.42 or whatever would not be ideal for me. Thanks.
One thought: When you are using NI, do you see any stack traces in the console? They might give us a hint on what is going on, maybe it has a problem with one of the game files.

Has anyone else had problems gettting Near Infinity to run properly with the newest version of Sun's Java? I can start it but I cannot see anything but images and the buttons to play sounds, I cannot edit anything.

I have this problem .
Fallen Paladin, do you mean the latest beta version of NI?

Anyway I got it working. The "latest" beta version at the near infinity site is labled wrong. The link says 1.32.1 beta 24, wich is what I was using, but in actuality it is 1.33 Beta 18. This does work for me.
