proficiency problem....

Is this something that should be happening with that particular kit? If not, what levels should I be gaining profiencies? Another forum user told me it was
"Fighters, Paladins, Rangers, and Barbarians get 4 to start with and an additional one on every level that's an even multiple of 3. (sounds like every 6 levels to me...)
Clerics, Druids, Thieves, Bards, and Monks get 2 to start with and additional one on every level that's an even multiple of 4. (sounds like every 4 levels...)
Mages and Sorcerors get 1 to start with and an additional one on every level that's an even multiple of 6. (sounds like every 6)
Dual classes progress at the rate of the class that they are currently active. Multi-classes get whichever is the best option among all their classes. The order from best to worst is fighter->cleric/thief->mage.
So any fighter multiclass will progress at the fighter's rate. Thief/Clerics, Thief/Mages, and Cleric/Mages will progress at the rate of cleric/thief.
"
Is this accurate? Do I need to shadowkeeping profs into my characters?
I'm running BP, with SOA/TOB installed. patched according to the directions and such (version 6 installed)....

Not at all typical. In fact, it is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing reported, in 1000's of installs.

Methinks there's a mod conflict here. Did you install one of the packs that alter prof maxes for multi-fighter combos or level 50 packs, etc...?
dont believe so, I have:
NPCs:
Chloe
Kelsey
Valen
Other:
ease of use
under-represented items
item upgrade
dungeon be gone....
If I pull my saves out and blow it away and reinstall from scratch will that likely get me where I should be?

I'm a tech of no small measure (no great measure either ) so I think in terms of "if theres a problem, eliminate it" and the old faithful "reinstall/reboot".....

I want to say I just let it install them all...I believe all went through without errors though...uninstall that perhaps?

There's your problem m'laddo. Several components of the EoU mod are not compatible with BP. (Mainly because BP versions already exist in the mod.) Such as the ones related to my initial post. Take another look at the readme for which components are naughty and which are nice.
And just because I have an unnatural fondness for this smilie, next time

well for those interested, removing the undesirable components didnt work so I'm gonna blow away my whole install and try again...hopefully it will recognize and accept my old saves and work okay...
You'd have to do the reinstall, and progress in levels to see a generation of profs, etc... They aren't going to be retroactively reassigned in a savegame.

I know, I was CLUAing my experience to level 30 to see if anything showed up following the changes but none did. I've yet to reinstall so I'll be trying it tonight and hopefully avoiding starting over....

As for the "RTFM" emote, it was having to reinstall, and start over that taught me to do that on ALL mods I am installing before I install them. Just so you know you are not alone in dealing with this problem. Been there, done that.
We need a "I hosed my install" Tee-Shirt.

I have a feeling your right too, but I gotta try...regardless I just ordered the Baldur's GAte original saga collection thing (had BG 1 but never finished) so I'll be complicating things even more shortly with BGT+BP

Very cool and good luck. Be VERY careful with your install. Make sure to follow ALL instructions and compatability lists for that one. With all those components, it has alot of mods it is "allergic" to.

I just leveled my fighter kit (Bladesinger I think it was called) to level 11 and noticed that he hasnt gained any proficiency stars since his creation. And then I realized no one else had either. I went ahead and CLUAed to level 19 and noticed he didnt get any stars...niether did Shar-Teel (they are both the same class...) but other folks in my party did (Aierie, Keldorn, ect)....

However, another thing...Kackicho (the kensai/mage who shows up before leaving Irenicus' dungeon) has no information attached to her...its like she doesnt exist in the game? All modules installed via the auto install guide that is pinned on this board...all went as it should so I guess its going to play the way it *should*
Thanks for the assist....oh, the dummy guy I put together to test the profs has some fierce stats but I might want a different picture for him...Shadowkeeper wont damage my game will it?
