As soon as that stuff is some kind of necessary patch for any game configuration I decided to convert it to WeiDU format, so everybody (modmakers) will be free to drop it from their mods once and for all..... :) (as for BGT)

The progress:

All texts/strings corrections part already prepared (2.5MB .tp2), all 2DA + 90% of .are is done too.


So, stay tuned, guys.... :)
It will be available in 2 days or earlier....

I decided to convert it to WeiDU format...


Rene has already converted it to WeiDU 2-3 years ago.

Yes, and that's why TDD, SoS, BGT and BP have its broken and duplicating each other pieces all over there I guess.....

Hey, a question: where will this fit into the BP installation? (At what stage?) Before or after the 3 mods have been installed, or after BP?

So would it be an underwhelming assumption you will be doing a weidu verson for Baldurdash BG1/ToSC in the near future?

I hope it can fit at any time, 'coz I add several checks at critical points (where it ADDS items or spells to any NPC, so you won't have f.e. 'fixed' Minsk with double amount of known spells).

There're several places that could produce some incompatibility but only if some mods will mix up original ToB contents completely:
1) In dialogs, if trigger state numbers changed (I mean those "IF ~~ THEN BEGIN 2" )
2) If any of the original items, spells etc. have been renamed or modified (due to a present WeiDU lack of functionality it's impossible for example to add new effects and it's impossible to remove something - effects or abilities - at all, so I can't patch several spells ant items; should wait for a new WeiDU version ;) )
3) if somebody will use MISC83BD.ITM and SCRL3IBD.ITM names.
4) somebody will mix up dialog.tlk
5) if original 2da entries mixed up and somebody added something for example at the top of any table.

So, if installed mods are made with a common sense :) it'll be 100% compatible at any stage.

One more thing... I remember you're going to lower creatures XP for BP. You don't need to do that manually and to provide a full set of .CREs. It could be done just with a single COPY_EXISTING_REGEXP block in your tp2 for ALL .cre.... ;)
You just need to decide a lowering %....And that will eliminate ANY possible creatures incompatibility with any other mod installed before BP.....

It's not necessary. You definitely will need BG1 contents for BGT installation (if not - why did you post in this forum? :P ). So if you will apply Baldurdash for bg1/totsc before BGT installation you will receive PATCHED version of BGT after.... :)

But may be I'll look at Ascension mod that has not very good WeiDU script.... ;)

Yes, I've found one necessary restriction for this mod installation. It should be installed BEFORE BGT-WeiDU. It affects only text corrections. Other resources patching is valid at any time.

I made corresponding modifications, so the updated version is available for download now at old location.

KD: The XP awards were already done manually, for about 4500 of the CRE files. They were not done by a simple percentage--they were done according to a table I designed, based on the original 1E system by E. Gary Gygax. The table is available on the BP Yahoo site, if you care to take a look and see exactly what I did.

P.S: KD--you may have not considered this possibility, but I may have actually known what I was doing when I changed these in-game files, so many moons ago... :rolleyes:
