Great work Yacomo :).

I was thinking, it would be nice if there were a scale indicator on the map - somewhere in the big blue sea would be the obvious place.

I can provide an estimation of pixels<->miles if you desire.  IIRC Athkatla to Hlondeth is around 2,500 miles, but I'll need to double check ;).

Okay, it would seem aprox. 60 pixels = 100 miles. This would mean Baldur's Gate to Athkatla is around 350 miles, which sounds about right :). Athkatla to Hlondeth is not 2,500 miles as I said in the previous post, more like half that, and that fits in with this scale :D.

If the preview image is 1/4 the current size, then in the full sized map 240 pixels = 100 miles.

Just wanted to let you know that I posted some screenshots of the new map here.

Release probability for the coming weekened is 99.999% B)

I was wondering... wasn't Ulgoth's Beard supposed to be west of Baldur's Gate? (I'll look it up.)

EDIT | If you look at this map, I think it's supposed to be either at the shore or on one of the islands west of BG.

(This is one of those maps that came with the game. Ingame Ulgoth's Beard's icon did not fit west of Baldur's Gate, that's why it has a little arrow.)

Apart from that the map looks great though!

Sure, it should be on an Island (btw that's the map from the original BG :) * Edit * Isn't it funny when too guys add the same edits to their posts at the same time? ).

I was just too lazy to add one (for this first release), so I left it where Sir Billybob put it last - I'll move it in a future release, promise :whistling:

Oh ok, if you're aware of it then all is fine. Can't wait to see the full map! This map could really become a standard for all mods to work with, that would be cool. :) What did you do with travel times?

Nothing changed yet, can't have everything at once :P. To be honest I already have a pretty large list of improvements I'd like to add divided into nice little packages (fixed up to v5). Incorporation of map fixes from other mods is on that list (I guess you are referring to the G3 Tweak Pack). But not before v5 and of course this depends on the permission of the original authors.

Btw. the 'plan' will be part of the release for everybody to see and comment.

well I was looking at the new map and it looks great! good job. I saw that the mini map of bg city looked a bit mushy (not the actual icon that you click on to go there but shrunken version) so I made a new one. I saved it in jpg and closed it before saving it in bmp. so it did turn out as good, but if you like it feel free to use it.

That's nice, I'll gladly take it :^^: . It will however not make it into v1 :(, since that one is almost finished and I want to get one version out as soon as possible. But I'll add it to to a later version when I am rebuilding the mos again.

Nice! This really motivates me to continue working on this map :thumb:

Would you like to refit this one to the 'correct' new size? Don't worry about the clothmap effect and border, I'll apply them when I create the next version of the mos.

Right - guessed you downsized the image from another source, so it would be a bad idea from my side to size it up again and throw away all the details...

Perfect! Again, my apologies that these do not make it into the first release, but I'll add them for sure in the near future.

In the meantime I am almost done now with v1, only have to finish the readme, upload it and notify TheWizard B)

Btw: Just uploaded v1 to TheWizard, expect to see it up on the servers shortly :D

To the community:

Once the file is up on the mirrors I could use some testers. I am mainly looking for those among you that have a far better knowledge of Faerun and the mods that are part of BP-BGT than I have.

What I want of you is mainly feedback on the positions of the various mod locations. This is to avoid that I put a location to the east of another one when it should actually appear to the west...
In order to make this as simple as possible for you the mod contains a second optional component that makes all locations visible. Just install that option once, tell me what's right and what's wrong and then deinstall it.
