Hrothgar dialog bug in NeJ?

This is when I met the guy for the first time at the very beginning of NeJ. The first line is what he said when he first talked to me. It continues for 2/3 lines after the last line. For all I know, it's supposed to be like that, but something tells me it's not. :huh:

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?

If this changes anything, I'm playing the game on a fresh install of BP-BGT-NeJ with 313 and V4 patch with an imported PC from a modded BP-BGT-NeJ.

It happened to me when I started a new BG2 game. The dialog worked fine for my BG1 game though.

I ended up just ignoring it.

I received the exact some issue when I was trying out SBT with a BG1 saved game. Then I used a fresh install to see if my mods where affecting it in anyway. I started a new BG2 game and went straight to NeJ. That's where the pic above came from.

Well, if there isn't a fix, does anyone know what Hrothgar was supposed to say?

Best way is to install IWD and check!! :o
Some of us aren't playing NeJ1.4 as it isn't supported anymore due to the pending NeJ2 release, but otherwise sorry, I don't know what he is supposed to say unless I install IWD and check!!

It isn't the right dialog. Not sure why he has those lines. Did he leave the inn after the conversation? He needs to so you can find him in his home. That is how you start the next quest.

It isn't the right dialog.  Not sure why he has those lines.  Did he leave the inn after the conversation?  He needs to so you can find him in his home.  That is how you start the next quest.

Yes he leaves the inn. Then when you talk to him at his house he has completely screwy dialog as well, not to mention the quest has a screwed up title in your journal.

Hrothgar wasn't much of a problem. Arundel is the problem: His dialog and voice work fine, untill you get to the end where (I assume) he sends you to the tomb. Once you get to that part of the dialog Jahiera pops up with some randomness about the harpels and a portal to the underdark. This breaks the Arundel convro and leaves me stuck in limbo.

EDIT: Okay, I went to see what dialog he's using, and he's using DHROTH.dlg. So I opened it up to take a look and, well, it's all screwy. I attempted to attached it so that you can see for yourself, but it keeps saying invalid file extention, even if I compress it.

The first, second, and fourth lines in my picture are from Tarnes.dlg. The third and last two are from charmc.dlg. By from, I mean it's present word for word in those files too. Can anyone explain to me how this could have happened? Would it work if someone upload a "correct" version of DHROTH.dlg and I just plop it in my override folder?

Update: If I uninstall the S & H patch, the DHROTH.dlg returns to a "sane" version. Bug in s&h patch?

Possibly, try posting this in there. Although Horred is working on the new version and has said that NEJ is to out of date to be bothered with. So we may just have to wait for the new version.

For my installation it was needed just to remove DHROTH.DLG from my ovveride folder - this really seems to be an error in v6 patch...

Perhaps you haven't read all the posts on this. I'm not working on any version of NeJ. Vlad won't allow it. Hopefully he'll make his own compatible with BP.

Unlikely, NeJ is apparently supposed to be standalone mod.
