Pretty much yeah.

But look at it this way. Every later date is another thing not cut out

Okay, you guys... Educate me here.. :D

Why would they (according to the Wiki or Gamespot, I forget which) release two different versions in several countries and only one in the U.S. Is it so many of you will (hopefully, in their eyes) buy both, or is it in the best interest of gameplay itself to have the good and evil segregated like that? Enquiring minds want to know! :D

As I understand it they are realeasin both versions in all countries?

I hate that I am forced to choose between the two alignments that I hate the most

I agree, Grunker.. I don't think that it is fair that anyone should have to choose anything, or that in order to play the full game, that many in the world have to buy two games.. That's why I asked what I did.

I'm going on the assumption that this Wiki is correct, however... http://www.nwn2wiki....Limited_edition

Edit: Or, is this just limited to the Limited Edition? Will the regular, non-limited edition of the game include a choice of alignment?? I'm still not totally clear on if we're talking a difference in packaging and goodies only, or if we're talking a pre-determined player path in the game itself.. (As I said.. Somebody educate me here.. )

From what I understood. America gets one version(neither LG nor CE), and the other versions present the same games with just the extra content being different.

LG Version:
Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 The games
Artwork & Music DVD
40 Page Artbook
Lawful Good figurine
Lawful Good pewter ring
In-game item "Blessed of Waukken"
Neverwinter Nights Map
7 days free trial for Dungeon & Dragons On-line
10 pre-generated good characters
Giant Box packaging

CE Version:
Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 The games
Artwork DVD
Music DVD
40 Page Artbook
Chaotic Evil figurine
Chaotic Evil Pewter ring
In-game item "Blessed of Waukken"
Neverwinter Nights Map
7 days free trial for Dungeon & Dragons On-line
10 pre-generated evil characters
Giant Box packaging

America's Limited edition content is as follows.
* Limited Edition Content:
- A powerful new feat called Blessed of Waukeen, which will generate +1 bonus to all saving throws,
- Two special items
- Access to a unique weapon
- A magical golden aura which lights above your character
- Cloth map showing in-game locations
- Book of art, depicting characters and scenes from the game
- Two silver antique rings: Good & Evil

So it seems that America gets only one game. And that the two versions of LE only change the extras, same game.

No problem I guess. I just hope that I'm correct in that thought.

I'll just get the CE version to match my rp  although I like LG more, but the demands of a PW means that I have to be there to balance out the d-gooders! ;)

Yea, it's official now that America will only get one limited edition (I don't really see why that is, though).

Otherwise you're also correct in saying that the versions will only differ in bonus contents and pre-generated characters, but there is one more thing they're going to differ at: The game menus (Start menu, update menu etc.) and the loading screens.

Those things are customized for either LG or CE feeling, depending on which edition you'll get. I'm not sure but I presume that the normal edition will have something in-between considering the menus and loading screens, perhaps something that could be considered to be the 'Neutral' edition.

Check out this rpg codex thread about NWN2 limited edition: http://www.rpgcodex....ca45b58d9396e9a

That just reinforces my opinion that the people over at rpg codex are the most negative gamers out there. Just try and read any thread about announced games there. Sorry if this offends anyone but that's how I feel.

But still... Having a glowing aura permanently attacted to your character seems like... well... shit.

I do have to admit that the glowing aura doesn't sound that great. I hold to the hope that there will be a way to disable it.

Or that it won't be that bad.

It's not about that aura specifically, the people over at rpg codex pretty much diss everything. I agree that the aura may be a bit silly, but there's always a way to disable such things.

Hopefully.

After reading the rest of the thread, I agree with you pretty much though.

I wouldn't dare to start a thread about BGIII, it might begin the apocalypse over there

EDIT: Although this comment made me laugh a bit:

I just love that when you buy the collector edition your blessed by the god of capitalism and merchanidise

:D

(He's refferring to the new feat, Blessed by Waukeen, as Waukeen is the god of wealth and trade ;))

I must admit I liked that too. I'd like to note that somewhere I saw that Blessed of Waukeen also gves you better reactions with merchants.

:P Yeah, well, there's always been a way to disable such things... or at least someone is going to cook it up if it isn't there to begin with. Well, I'm not sure if the light sphere is even a fact, a choice of the player or annoying.

Yea, plus you get to purchase special items from three merchants if you have the Blessed of Waukeen feat.

According to the Vault, NWN2 has been put back again till 31st October.

http://nwvault.ign.c...ry.php?id=21253

Hopefully it won't slip again, and this is just for bug-fixing.

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

Well, drats..... :(

But, I would rather it be later and more bug-free, rather than me having to apply an infinite number of fix-it patches after the release.
