Nothing's sure yet... although what we can read in the NWN2 wiki about this, makes it appear so that different countries might have different stuff in the box. I don't think that's going to happen though, it'd be WAY too much hassle. But neither do I know if one of those suggestions is the right one.

In Denmark it may also come with a soundtrack.

Besides that it comes with a map made of fabric/old paper, the original neverwinter nights + expansions (I own that already :(), artbook, figurine, metal flask and a CD with artwork.

I'm going to pay well over 100$ for it, so if it doesn't contain at least that, I'm not buying CE-games anymore.

There's a first time for everything :)

What I'm getting is NWN2 limited edition (I still haven't seen anything but the older black colored box as a referance) and a copy of Dragonshard for free, since I pre-ordered. All that for 73 euros, delivery included.

Well, here's what it's supposed to include in Finland:

A NWN 2 Figurine
A bonus CD with game art and music
A customized game box
A map
An artbook of the game's characters
A copy of the original Neverwinter Nights (Why, oh, why? It's useless)

Edit:

Just checked Atari Finland, and it says that we're getting two versions. Then I have to ask, what will the stores provide the pre-orderers with since we didn't get to choose? I'm going to mail my store and make damn sure I get the lawful good one.

Am I wrong in thinking Atari et al is creating a support nightmare for itself? If it is indeed the case that they have a lot of variations on a theme (game good, game evil, etc.) flittering about, I can only imagine the expense they're gonna rack up with trying to implement fixes and patches. It doesn't seem either viable, or practical.

@ArchS - If I happen to get a special, NWN Decoder Ring with my limited edition, I'll send it to you. :D

Yeah, seems like they've lost it all. And you can image what happens when we add the different language versions on top of that.

If the non-U.S versions are as you guys say, and mix that with our U.S. version being as what I read, then add all the language translations, throw in a couple of inevitable bugs missed by Beta -- EGADS! I would hazard a guess that if Atari didn't have financial woes before... this recipe sounds like the potential for financial disaster for this project. (I wonder if the big mucky-mucks at Atari/Hasbro ever play these things before they make an executive decision. ;) )

I doubt anyone tells them what's going on... someone has to spend the income money after all. :whistling:

Regarding the collector's edition, here's a slight update to the previous list.

Note that this is for the "Lawful Good" special edition. I suspect the only differences between the various special editions will be the cover art, and the pre-generated characters.

- Neverwinter Nights Figurine
- 40 page Neverwinter Nights Art Book
- Pewter Ring
- A3 Clothe Map
- Artwork & Music DVD
- Neverwinter Nights 1 + Both Expansion Packs
- 10 Pre-Generated good characters
- In Game Item - The Blessed of Waukken
- 7 Day free trial of Dungeons & Dragons Online
- Special Edition Packaging

Any news on whether there'll really be many localized versions with different content? I suppose that list is for the UK version?

I'm already getting it but I want the limited edition version just for the ring hehe.

I and some friends have been planning an rp PW world since about January (it's set in the Moonsea). www.zhentilkeep.net if anyone's interested in checking it out.

I've always found NWN as the best multiplayer rpg around (proper rp that is) and am sure that NWN2 will be better simply because that was Obsidian's aims and from the looks of it I'm sure they'll deliver.

Also the lead admin for our PW has got the toolset for BETA :)

So far I've located three stores that sell the limited edition in Finland; and two of those are now out of stock (I guess people use that pre-order option ;)). Fortunately, I did manage to order my copy before they went out of stock. The only thing that's bugging me is that I can't choose which limited edition I'll get... so, I'm still bombarding them with email asking if I could choose it anyway. Well, at least I'm getting it now.

Edit: Typo.

Edit 2: Make that four stores, with three out of stock. The last one's probably out of stock too, I know they're usually a bit slow when it comes to updating the site. That's how many copies we get in Finland, four stores, and all out of stock before the limited edition is even released. You get the picture.

Nah, actually we've got a high number of gamers, but we just get small amounts of any limited edition game (Oblivion being an exception). The normal version of NWN2 will be available in just about anywhere where they sell games, so it's just the limited edition that's getting out of stock.

An odd thing I've found browsing UK stores web sites is that several of them are only advertising one of the special editions. So Game have only the LG version, and Play.Com the CE one. I don't know if this is actually going to be the case, but if so I'm not going to be able to get the version I want locally. I haven't seen any claiming to have both special editions available.

So how did Atari decide which store was LG and which CE then?

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

Unfortunately unless I win a new computer I won't be able to play this for a long time after I purchase it. (Buying the LE for America)

THis is unfortunate because it looks like a very interesting game.
