It's kinda funny actually, that Black Isle used to be Canadian but now I couldn't even find specific info on Canada's release dates, only "US". OK, granted that maybe my search wasn't really efficient, but still?

Black Isle Studios was American and is pushing up daisies. :crying:
Bioware IS Canadian (stationed in Edmonton, AB), produced the NWN disaster, but is not involved with NWN2. -_-
Obsidian is American (based in Santa Ana, CA), and is currently working on NWN2. :P

And Obsidian has many of the old BI employes.

Anyways, we're sold out in Denmark too. Which is really, really rare when it comes to limited editions of roleplaying games.

Lets hope the expectations for this game matches the outcome.

OK, now I feel foolish. I did mix up the names for Bioware and Black Isle, but I did mean that Black Isle produced NWN, but I thought they were a partner (not the main company involved, but a partner still) in the development of NWN2. It's interesting to know that they've nothing to do with NWN2 when they produced NWN.

Anyway, my question remains: any data on Canada regarding release dates etc????

My answer is this: if, listening to that music, you don't get that overwhelming rush of power that makes the hair stand at the back of your neck, you may never will. But you know what, it doesn't really matter. Because, judging from the 40 000 people around me, we're doing just fine without ya." :) Cheers! And two horns up for metalheads all around the world!

According to BestBuy Canada it's out on October 31st, so the same as the USA.

Any of you have any intentions of modding this one? :D

Certainly looks like it.

I did some work for various hak files for NWN1, and I've been working off-and-on on a module for over a year. I haven't got the Toolkit yet, but when I do I'll be looking at it seriously, and I'll probably convert my work over to it. That depends a bit on which models are available, but what I'm doing won't need anything unusual, and it looks like the NPC system in place will be much better for what I'm doing.

The first review I've seen is in the December issue of PC Gamer UK. They like it. Overall score is 90%, they say that it's: Traditional; Elaborate; Constructive; and it's not: Cliched; Overwhelming; Just for D&D Fans.

The last paragraph goes like this.

NWN2 is something of a surprise. Obsidian could have simply overhauled the engine, focused on the modding potential, and tacked on a decent enough single player campaign. Instead, this is a game to file alongside KotOR and Planescape. Perhaps too much is familiar, lacking KotOR's tight finess or Planescape's astonishing charm. But it's warm, deep, intricate beyond belief, so very funny (just wait until you meet the gnome bard), and opulently inviting.

At least we know the preview copies have been distributed (per Blue Nose's post about the PC Mag review). That's sign of land in my book. Be optomistic, Grunker. It's now only days away -- mere hours!

And Blue, thanks for the clip. That raises my hopes even more for a fresh, new game that we can really look forward to.

The joys of homeschooling.

I can get it while everyone's at work or school. Unfortunately I haven't been able to preorder, but there's still LE

Yeah Morningglory, the clock is really ticking. I usually don't anticipate games this much, but...

Seven days and counting.

Where I ordered it from, they've said it will be shipped on the 31st, and I won't have it until Nov 2nd or 3rd. Our local Walmart says they will have it in-store (the reg edition, but no limited edition) on the 3rd, too. So, release date is one thing -- having it loaded and ready for play is *sigh* another. Wish I had time to run through 'Hordes' beforehand. Just as an appetiser, you know.. I'm usually not one to be so antsy about new games, either, and this one better be worth all the hype surrounding it, or there's gonna be a lot of belly-aching from this corner of the world.

@ Kael: You've got a week to clean out sofa cushions, check coat pockets, rob your siblings' piggy banks, etc., to come up with the 10 bucks. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you..

So it is in Finland as well... and approximately everywhere else in Europe (Not entirely sure about localized game versions).
