I've played around here, trying to figure out what happened, but no clue. Anyone else know what this is?

I seaarched for anyone else with this problem, didn't see anything on the first five pages. I thought everything was going to be just fine once I got past the silly music files problem I had. I started up anew game, and selected single player, Baldur's Gate. THe game seemed to begin, hit the loading screen with the Bhaal skull and silly hint/tips at the bottom, and when the loading barss flowed about halfway, the whole thing went to windowed mode and turned black and stuck.

Did you have the BG1 files in a folder C:\baldur, or did you leave them in the black isle folder when you installed the mod?

I had the same problem once and it means that Baldur's Gate can't find the files for the Candlekeep area that it's trying to load. The only way I was able to make it work was to reinstall everything.
Make sure you have Baldur's Gate 1 in c:\baldur and then install again. Or if you are using BP-BGT-NEJ use the checker to see if you have all the files needed to install it. The checker can be downloaded from the thread here.
When installing BGT takes a very long time to finish, just let it run and don't stop any programs running. When installing BP-BGT-NEJ you will know when it's finished as the next thing it does is run the XP patcher.
Maybe someone else has another idea on how you can fix the problem but when I had it I made a typo when I typed in the Baldur's Gate 1 path, so only press enter after you are certain it's the right path value.
Sorry to hear that you've got problems installing it because I think it's a great game and this mod is definitely worth all the trouble.

Did you patch both games?
What version are you installing? Is it BGT, BP-BGT or BP-BGT-NeJ?
Don't close any dos boxes that seems to do nothing at ll and just stay black that will surely FUBAR your installation.
Unfortunately there is no other way but to reinstall to get rid of this problem, but give us a few more details and maybe we can help you so the next installation works.

Yep. Please make clear which BGT you are using. So is it BGT, BP-BGT, BP-BGT-NeJ, or BGT-WeiDU?Did you run BG1 and BGII at least once? If not the games will give problems.
