As you pointed out, not getting the holy symbol will cause problems in the other quests also. So this is important to mention.

Fixed. In DSC002, spawnpoint #9 has an empty value in creature choice 2. That may be the problem.
Here is a fixed AR4600 area with the transition to DSC006 (dragon's cave).

Can I just dump these into my override folder?
I've spent the last couple of days of free time going over Keiria's CRE files and her D files. Other than her introductory dialog at the Nashkel Fair, does she have any other dialog? And aside from being eye-candy, does she have any other integral role in plot?
I know she has spoken interjections in certain settings, I can't find where these are stored. Her Background needs to be proof read. Other than that, it looks as if I could take her character in any direction I choose and not create a conflict.
Three things come to mind as possible plot points for a new mod. A romance with an NPC or the PC, her background with the Harpers, and her background with the Theatre.
What do y'all think?

Actually, we don't have many of those in BG1 (I think just the Coran one in BG1NPC). So this would be covering new territory. The TeamBG gang never built any dialogs beyond the basic "Hi I am xxx can I join". I suspect because it was close to impossible to build them back then (Hlid mentioned they had to hex edit everything, no Weidu back then).
So most of the NPCs have no meat for the story. They should all be fair game for some new quests, dialogs, etc. By the way, most of the dialogs they had were copies of Faldorn's dialog files. I rewrote what you see now.
Give her some small quests (either Harper related or not) and some good stories to tell the party. That should make her worthwhile to keep.
I would expect Chev to make an NPC mod out of Jet but he can't get past drooling for her. Can't blame him, I always like Sheena's voice too.

Hear that Chev, SBB's calling you out!!!
Stupid question #1, where can I find more information on Harper organization and activities in the Sword Coast area? Need to have something reasonable to spin the mod off of, don't ya' know.
Believe me, I'll have plenty of other stupid questions before I can finish this thing.
Finding an interesting voice actor for Keiria's dialog, hmnn . . .

The voice actress was Jennifer Hale, who also did Mazzy Fentan (and I think Aribeth of NWN too). According to this, she's got quite a repertoire: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0354937/. I dunno the ethics of it, if it would be considered stealing, but maybe you could put together a workable soundset if you have access to enough of her soundbytes (after all, she's a bard, so she might work with a number of different vocal styles and/or accents).

I think Keira's existing soundset, such as it is, is pilfered from Fall-From-Grace, much as Jet'Laya is borrowed from Annah.

Thanks. I was thinking of using a local femme fatale with a sexy voice and revoicing her lines.

One of the book series to look at is Ed Greenwood's Spellfire series. I used it as a basis for the Blue Dragon Staff you find in BoneHill. It is also why you keep getting ambushed by the Cult of the Dragon. The Cult, Zhents, Harpers, and Elminister are all in there. One of the interesting parts to it is that the Harpers are everywhere. They seem to be the reverse of the Red Wizards. Both try to influence political and economical leaders without revealing their true identities. There is a Harper HQ in every major town or city. The Gate doesn't seem to have one so maybe that would be something for you to add into the game. Beregost would be too small of a town, unless something evil nearby required a Harper to spy on it.
That was kind of my thinking. I knew Athkatla has a Harper Stronghold and I can track those people down. I wasn't aware of any confirmed Harpers in the Sword Coast area, other than Khalid, Jahiera, Gorion, and occassionally E.

In the books I mentioned, one of the leaders of Waterdeep is a harper. That doesn't pertain to the northern areas around BG but obviously they are all over the place. It is just a matter of making up a story as to why they are there. I would think that with the strange goings on at the Iron Throne, several harpers should be trying to check in on the place and see who this new leader is.
You investigate the Iron Throne for the Duke, but why couldn't a harper come up to you and ask you to investigate for them also. Or better still, they ask Jeheira if she is in the party (or Khalid) and then ask you if they aren't.

The entrance to the cave only opens if the game thinks the dragon is dead. If it isn't all sorts of globals don't update including Jeremy (the one in Nashkel that gave you the quest), Megan, and I think Priest Jarnet is also effected. Did a soldier walk up to you after the dragon fight? He should say something about problems in Nashkel. If that didn't happen, you do have problems.
I was not approached by a soldier after the battle. I hope Horrid completes his revised versions soon. I had a devil of a time installing this beast last time, and from the sound of things, I seriously screwed something up.
I finally gave up on the DSotSC Quests and headed north. I ended up on the Fields of the Dead Map. Terrific battle in front of the ruined temple. After clearing out the Orc Spellcasters, I did some nosing around. The temple door highlighted as a ?, so I clicked on it to read the blurb. So much for that. Note to self, leave temple door alone until I have key. Any after reloading, I'm back on the Zombie map, getting set to have at them Orcs again. I have no idea whether it's running corectly or not, but it's still a pretty neat adventure, so far.

How did you get to the field of the dead? I cant find it?
Go North of Baldur's Gate. There's a map on which you're asked to kill several zombies. On the North edge of that map is a link to the first Fields of the Dead map.

There is a harper in the Gate that you meet up with. He is over near the Iron Throne building.

I remember him. I thought he was linked to having Khalid and Jahiera in your party. I've got a couple of ideas for a plot line. The Iron Throne angle is a good one. From what I've gathered, the Harpers are likely to get themselves involved in fighting evil and preserving the "balance." They're also likely to investigate the peculiar and the bizarre. My thought was to mix in a story line linking back to Maztica or even Zakhara. Something definitely bizarre enough to set a Harper or two to sniffing about.

I began writing my banters today. When I have completed them and printed out a hard copy, I'll begin coding them for WEIDU. That promises to be a pain staking process, with a steep learning curve, but it also seems do able. I haven't actually played my game since Monday. Between, my RL concerns and trying to piece together a story line and dialogs, I haven't had much time.

After reading through JCompton's Tutorial on Banter, I'm already going to have to rewrite some of the materials to make them fit more neatly into the coding structure. Oh well, I have to run. A lot to do today, and none of it involves modding. RL is definitely crimping my fun.
