While a Cleric of Bhaal could be a nice character, the fact remains that they would be a spell-less cleric.  On the other hand, they would have had enough time to dual class and have enough levels to compare to other npc's.

cyric should give the powers i suppose.

and on the other hand, i'll rephrase:
I Want More!! (the above mentioned NPCs were good, but variety would be nice. damn i'm greedy)

in fact, as far as the cleric of Bhaal goes, maybe someone older, like mid 50's or something, like keldorn, that lived before PC's birth, thus was a cleric. regains power upon meeting the PC, directly tapping his/her divine essence (!).

i suppose a younger one is possible, if the cleric got powers from cyric, then PC.

crazy maybe, but interesting nonetheless

I had the idea of a Deathstalker of Bhaal kit for the PC for Cleric Remix. Based upon the premise that you draw upon your own divine heritage to get your spells.

I don't know if it'll get round to being made, though...

On another note, it is possible for worshippers of a dead god to be granted spells. Shar killed Ibrandul but grants spells to his worshippers in his name, pretending to be him. Many worshippers of Bane have got spells from Cyric and Xvim since his death, and not all of them have converted. And Myrkul still has clerics, possibly being able to grant spells through the Crown of Horns. :)

And besides - as the AD&D manuals state, it's possible to be cleric of an IDEA. So why not the idea that <CHARNAME> is a deity?

Actually, it's possible to be a cleric of a philosophy - not strictly the same as an idea ;).

In the Realms, it is not possible to be a Cleric without venerating a deity. In standard dnd it is as NiGHTMARE said, but in the Realms you do need a deity.

The one counterexample I can think of is the 3E Ur-Priest prestige class. This is an ex-divine spellcaster, out of favour with his or her deity, who steals power from the deities to power their spells. So although this character does not worship a deity, they still need them for spells. ;)

NPC ideas, and mostly, what I want to see, with suggestions and hopes.
here goes:

Elven/half-elven Sorcerer (LG, NG, CG) Female
- lots of mages out there, but not enough sorcerers. I thought Aerie should've been one.
- in fact, she should replace Aerie. and no tattoos or whining. yea. that'd be nice.
- should be found in the Promenade

Um.. Tashia?

Human Swashbuckler (CG,NG) Male
- there really isn't that many stereotypical fantasy swashbucklers in Bg2 on contrary to popular opinion. I'd particulary enjoy the ladies man Zorro kinda figure.
- should start in a bar (any bar), suggest the docks. B)

Mod in progess - Khadion

Human Fighter(Paladin?) (LG,NG,LN) Male
- lord of some distant empire driven by brother/enemy, the whole idea of exile king *cough*LoTR style*cough*. Great storyline.
- should be somewhat quiet, loner, wise, yet commanding and charismatic.
- definitely needs a heirloom.
- encountered in Umar hills, or Windspear. Maybe Trademeet.

Uh.. Keldorn? Sarevok?

Ogre Berserker/Barbarian (CG,NG,NE,CE,Stupid Good) Male
- The proverbial dumb, tough and big. envision a bigger Minsc minus the hamster. should have personal weapon suited to its size... something big, like a hammer or a club.
- I think should be part of the Ranger quest with Madulf, but could be placed virtually anywhere. I'm seeing a friendly, "don't be mean" kinda thing.

This was the idea for my own NPC mod, actually, a half-orc barbarian. But looks like someone beat me to the punch, according to NM :D

There are/have been several half-orc NPCs in development (Darknesss In Light's Areina, Vengeful Rhapsody's Maruk), but AFAIK LoI is the first to have a half-ogre as a joinable character ;).

kai, i don't appreciate your sarcasm. go away.

j/k!

anyhoo, i already posted that i'm a greedy little ass - i want more. there. i said it. anymore sarcastic remarks on how there is already and existing NPC of similar lines is repetitive and futile, not to mention a waste of time.

on the off note, sarevok and keldorn aren't kings in exile. please read before you post.

How exactly are other posters supposed to know that you're apparently already aware of every single NPC that's available or in development? Or are you suggesting they ought to be mind readers?

That's nice. Kind of like this thread eh? It's already been pointed out that many of your "demands" are already in development. If you want more NPCs, the best bet is to develop one yourself.

*nods* Indeed. Your questions have been answered, with Mods-in-progress even, instead of just ideas, so there is no reason to start snapping at people. Like platypus said, if you're not satisfied with the given Mods, make your own. :glare:

no sorry, i'm rather enjoying this piece.

excuse me, but i'm trying to enjoy a piece of ass here.

Right, time to disarm and stand down. Flaming and personal attacks are not my idea of fun, so if you'd please knock of right now, okay?

No one here are mind-readers, as NiGHTMARE said, and both Moongaze and Insane Platypus have pointed out that you're going too far in you 'jokes', especially when several people - out of kindness - have informed you of mods in development, which may fit into your descriptions.

Now, I don't want to see a thread in the "Mod Ideas"-forum locked, since that would be extremely unnecessary, so I'd rather avoid that option if I can. This suggests that you, raven87, stops with whatever you're doing, or else I'll see to it that the thread will be locked. And if you still don't take the hint, there may be other repercussions.

I'm not in a very complimentary mood as you just forced a premature return on my part.

Mod preview for two weeks.

Grow up

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.
