K, heres the problem, i didnt finished some CtB quests because i was just unable to find some person (like several quests ask you to), For example, i found Melynda (or whatever that mute girl name is) talked to her but when i met the Cowleds in Governmant they gave me the quest again but this time to find her, after lots of time looking for her i found out that i actually CANT find her anymore, so i gave that quest up, then i went to that 3 district new town, got the Thar War quest, and since my cleric was about lvl 20 at that time he could just turn undeads forever and kill the skels and zombies as soon as they spawn every single time without getting a single hit himself or the army from the city being hit neither, then after about half an hour i gave up (there was just so many itens on the ground by then that my game was actually slowing down cause of it) and let the undeads kill the army in the first front, about 20 minutes later i let the udeads kill the second line too and then i killed some more at the last line untill the war was finally over (i guess youre supposed to almost lost the war to finish the quest), went back to town and the girl asks you to get a chest at Msytras temple, well guess what, there was an non-pickable door there and no sign of chest, after asking about in the forum i discovered that the key was with the priest (which by the way arent evil and got nothing when you pick their pocket so god knows how youre supposed to discover it) so i killed then, got the key and finally gave the girl the chest, now i must find another person, but the guy is nowhere to be found, went up and down, day and night, killed all the snakes around (to make safer for him as the girl asks you to) and didnt find him, so i gave up that quest too (lost a day looking for him). Back to Athkatla, nothign else to make then i decide to talk to Bodhi and pay her, she asks to go to the docks and when i get there lots of Shadow Thieves come and say to me to throw my weapons away, hmmm yeah right, said no and killed them in about 30 seconds (i mean, if i just cast an horrid all of them would just drop dead) then i look at CtB site and i discover its a quest, k then i reload and lower my wepoans, then they take my main char away and im supposed to get him back, and the quest says to talk to Bodhi about it, back to graveyard and a vamp asks me to go back to docks... Back to docks and nothing to do, so i think to myself "my pc is at the ST and i KNOW where they are, and where that prison is inside there" i go in there, kill more ST and (of course) the door down is closed since it will only be open when Bodhi gives me the key (which shouldnt happen before i get my pc back) so i go out of the ST building and Parissa come and tell me to go to the ST and use the key she gave me, bt im not supposed to go in the front door. Reload and wait till Parissa decides to show up before i enter the ST building, but then i see that there actually no other way into the biulding since the other doors are closed (from the inside) so i once again go into the building from the front door kill all of them again and again i cant do anything with the key.
So heres the problem, all the other "find this" quests i could avoid and try later or something, but now i just cant keep going since my pc is held by the ST and i gotta find some small little hidden piece of door/person/item to go on and i just have no idea where it is and the quest/npcs/site/readme gives no hint at all of what to do.
Oh i forgot the Finf the Scroll quest, i think it is a quest like "i will keep playing and ignore him till im lucky enough to find it by accident" kinda like the quest to find the mage in town, i mean, you cant blame the Cowls fr not finding her, since shes so good at hiding anyway.
If there were some tips in the game, any hint at all in any of those quests, but the NPCS are totally vague about it and the journal is not much more informative about it neither.
Im not saying i want a complete walkthrought, i just want to know where to look for those stuff ya know, i actually like this mod, it got great ideads, but usually somewhere between getting the quests and finishing them CBisson kinda lost himself.

OH MY GOD...SPACE OUT THAT TEXT! Do you have any idea how hard that is to read?!
All i'll tell you is that the priests in the temple are not whom they seem...
And I might write a walkthrough for CtB once I finish my first mod (good progress so far).

I would appreciate a mild walkthrough. I understand that Mr. Bisson's intent was to make the mod challenging. I appreciate that. For that reason I have continued to play it. But I share, in part Mad Mage's frustration.
A number of poster's have expressed concern about their inability to move quests forward due to hiding NPC's or difficult to decipher clues. I have noted through the weeks of largely lurking on this board that players discover elements of quests that I have not and vice-versa. I am left to wonder why? It would help me a great deal simply to know which quests are character class specific and for whom.
As an example, I have played through CtB three times. I have never seen the girl Mad Mage references. I have always wondered what to do with the chest. I have assumed it belongs to a class specific quest although it seems as if it should belong with House Exterminos.
With respect to House E, I have never discovered its gate key. So I wonder, is it a class specific quest or despite exhaustive searching, have I missed something? A walkthrough which balances Mr. Bisson's intent of a challenge while addressing, in general terms, issues like my example would be most appreciated.**

However, for any non-mage it would require the use of the ctrl key. Once inside, I eradicate the inhabitants of all above ground floors. However, when I attempt to go to the basement the game crashes. It has happened every time. My question; is the keyless method by which I entered House E the source of the crash or do I have a game problem? Perhaps the Mad Mage's mysterious little girl knows?

Instead of all of you complaining about not having a walkthrough, why don't you start to make one? If you have looked at any other walkthrough, they are not made by the author of the mod, they are made by someone else. The walkthrough for BG1, TOB, SoS, TDD, and several others I have read are created by one person with enormous input from other players. So, get on it. :thumb:

I actually like the more puzzled quests from CtB, but the issue is that sometimes there should be more hints in game as how to complete them ya know?
Im not asking for a "the mage is in x=1456 y=3561 AR1034" (not a real location, dun even know what area is AR1034) in the journal, but at least something to make finding some stuff easyer like "shes problably hiding underground" or something (which they say, but they also say she may not be underground... so not a hint in fact).
If any is going to make a walkthrought i can help but i cant make one myself for lack of time :-(. (and english is not my first language so it may have a lot of mistakes in it)
Btw, when i said "girl" its actually a women and i found her by accident because shes in fact in Valiants shop (and im a female mage) but she does not appear if you dont actually walk to the left side of the shop and come really close to where she stands, otherwise you cant see her ever trhought she should be in your line of sight already.
But now my main problem is how to get inside the Shadow Thieves hideout since my PC is there and i got a key to her prison, but i cant get to the prison itself and cant do anything else cause i dont have my PC
