Well, you geniuses have done it. :D I am currently romancing Eddie and having a wonderful time doing it. I'm glad that we can all finally give our favorite mage a little lovin' and that we can finally, finally insult our love interest and not have him run off in a snit. (I'm not bitter towards Bioware, what gave you that idea?)

Anyway, just thought I'd give you guys some positive feedback, such as: The dialogues are so funny I often find myself nearly snorting whatever I happen to be drinking at the moment on my keyboard. Eddie is so often adorably evil (or just arrogant) that I'm nearly sick with the cuteness (but sick in a good way). I love the small print at the end of the Nether Scroll. Edwina is indeed quite pretty, and does indeed have a rather large... thoracic area (I never noticed that about the female mage avatars until that dialogue). I haven't gotten to the Slayer dialogue yet, and have so far proven successful in resisting reading the dialogue file for it, but I'm sure that Eddie will have something great to say about that little incident. And seeing Edwin drunk is just... too good for words.

A few questions, though. One: Will there perhaps be a flirt module in later versions? I would love to be able to just insult Eddie out of the blue early in the romance, the way he does to me; sort of turn the tables on him. Or to stick my tongue out at him and have him respond with something like "Edwin gives you a look that is a mixture of annoyance and bewildered amusement." It is of course a great mod without something like that, but I always thought that the flirt module was a great idea. I mean, who hasn't wanted to just give Anomen some support after his sister's died or something like that? (Despite the fact that Anomen thoroughly grates on my nerves, and I am extremely tired of him... I do still feel sorry for him. Even though his sister has already died at least five times, not counting the number of times I've played the game without having him in the party or romancing him.)

Two: Did Edwina try to kill Salvanas before this mod? I'd never actually done the Nether Scroll quest before I tried this mod, so... I didn't know. (I actually tried it once, long before the mod, and he got the scroll and then nothing happened for ten days. Must've been a glitch.) Only he (er, she) killed Salvanas and then the rest of the commoners in the Copper Coronet turned hostile, and my AI-ed party, well... let's just say it was a bloodbath. My reputation was reduced to four, I think. I had to reload, which wasn't a huge deal, since, knowing Edwina, I'd had the presence of mind to save before having her talk to him. But I was just wondering if that bloody interlude was introduced with the mod or if it was there before.

Three: What exactly does that Love Potion do? ;) Other than lower strength and wisdom? (A rather fitting effect, of course, having your strength of will reduced to a quivering pile of jelly with LOVE?, but... unfortunate.) My character became quite encumbered when she drank it. Hehe.

And... erm... I know I had more, but I've forgotten them. Anyway, I truly love this mod, and thank you guys for bringing it to the BGII community (and more importantly, thank you for making it a WeiDu mod, so that us Mac OS X users could install it).

Hello Dyan! :D

Am very happy to hear you enjoy playing the mod - I loved writing it, and think Dorotea and Nebukad did a great job programming it (and I'm not forgetting all the other people who helped either.)

In answer to your questions:

There will eventually be a flirt module, I have started writing it, but cannot say exactly when it will be done.

The Salvanas thing is not my invention, it is part of the original game.

And the Love Potion is just the result of Edwin's silly experiment with potion mixing - it has only the effect of temporarily lowering certain stats, as became painfully obvious from Eddie's drunken ramblings. ;)

Ah, yes, yes, I see. That would also explain him falling off his stool. Aside from the rare inner ear condition.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm definitely looking forward to the flirt module... I do so enjoy giving Eddie some affection when he really needs it. And insulting him, of course. But that goes without saying, yes? :D Not to put any pressure, of course. I'm still enjoying the un-flirty edition. Nyehehe...

I think perhaps I'm becoming quite affected by Edwin, though... I didn't notice how many parentheses I using in my original post. But perhaps I shall keep the love potion as a souvenir.

Anyway, glad to hear you're working on that. I must go bait Edwin some more...

(Too many emoticons. I'm such an internet junkie. Ah, well.)

Oh, now I remember what else I was going to say! I was going to remark that whoever came up with the choice for his lovetalk music was right on the mark. 'Tis lovely.

This entire thing is inspiring me to fanfiction and fanart all the time... well, perhaps only fanart, once I get a tablet, since I'd be far too tempted to steal some of the great lines you used. And that would be plagiarism, and that would be bad.

Anyway, I'll stop spamming the forum now that my qeustions have been answered. :D

I found the music to be very Phantom of the Opera-ish. It was hilarious, but quite fitting. Good choice.

Laufey did an exceptional job with this mod, to be sure. It's the most hilarious and entertaining romance I've ever played.

I loved Eddie in BG1 but truthfully I never had a reason to bring him along in BG2 (aside from the amusement value of the Nether Scoll fiasco). Laufey has given me a very good reason why I need to have Edwin along for the ride.

Having a highly active imagination can be very taxing on the purity of one's soul at times...

I find you amusing... in a "What the hell is wrong with you?" kind of way...

I actually installed BGI again and went through the game with Edwin, just so I could have that feel of continuity with the storyline. I also had never really had a reason to keep him around... especially in BGI (never really liked the idea of killing Dynaheir just so I could keep him). Then I realized that I regarded Dynaheir as a quite irritating character and that I really didn't care about her, just the principle of the thing. So I went ahead and killed her. (I did feel a twinge of guilt, but... ah well.) Besides, I felt I was doing a good deed later when I saw Edwin and Alora talking and I could just feel Eddie beginning to think that maybe not everyone disliked him.

... yeah, I'll just keep that rationalization...

Anyway, yes, what was the point of my post again? Oh, right. Laufey has definitely given me a good reason to keep Eddie around, and it's made me realize that his boasting actually does have a grain of truth. He's a good mage. Good spells, nice extras... and he looks dead sexy in that Robe of the Evil Archmagi. ;) And he always stands out in a crowd, so he's hard to lose! Hehe.

(By the way, in case anyne's wondering, I'd sign up to these forums, but I've got way too many internet accounts to keep track of as it is, and I figure I shouldn't allow myself to do any more on the computer than I already do. Which is a lot. I'm sure it's not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention that.)

It was Ophidia who picked the music - I agree, I think it suits Edwin perfectly. :) And if you *do* create any fanart, please make sure to let me see it! :D

Thanks for all the kind words, both Kai and Dyan, they are much appreciated. :)

As for Dynaheir, you can actually have her and Edwin together, and not have to kill her. Just make sure not to talk to Edwin until you have already rescued Dynaheir and have her in your party. Edwin will grumble, but he'll join the party anyway 'to keep an eye on her'. ;)

And might I ask when the next chapter of 'Reshuffled' will be online?
"Joy comes through suffering," Joneleth Silverstar,
"Life is when the Spirit prepares for the Ethereal," Gorion Ralethscar
"Death can only rule Supreme. Anyone who resists this is a fool"

Go to the main Attic menu, where all the forums are listed. In the forum called 'Serials', I post the new chapters, about one per week. You should be able to find them with the search engine.

Later, I update the chapters to the 'Cards Reshuffled' page - had you found that one?

If you still can't find them, I'll post you a link.

Soon - I'm away from home for a couple of days, over the New Year. I'll be going home on the 3rd, so I'll post the next chapter shortly after that. :)

I agree that this is an astoundingly good MOD but I was disapointed that Eddie only had one banter in ToB apart from the end. I hope this was just a bug and you have written many more. *pleads*

That's definitely a bug, Edwin should have several banters in ToB. Try downloading the new version of the ToB mod - it should hopefully work out better.

I just want to add that I also think that this is the best mod out there! I LOVE Edwin and have always wanted him to be explored. Laufey wrote him pretty much as I always imagined him to be but Dekaras was a great touch I never would have thought of.
I am having so much fun with this mod! Thanks again Laufey and others!!! :thumb:
