I am now somewhat angry. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game with CTB and other mods once and I still have the problem that stopped me last time.
On the third day of doing chores Brother Dewey asks me to put books on shelves as usual. However, he does not give me any books, and when I come back to him he scolds me for putting the books in the wrong place. Resting does not help, he still scolds me. Am I missing something obvious (I have checked all the shelves as well, there are no book out of place)? Because I am getting somewhat frustrated and does feel a certain need for going just a bit berserk IRL with my sword...

Best wishes (and GRRRRRR); Palle

Can it be some of the other mods I have installed or am I overlooking something obvious??

It is not your fault and reinstalling will not help.

This mod is very poorly scripted and made, nothing to worry about -_- .

I'd help if I could, but I just installed this mod a few days ago, and didn't encounter the problem you're having at all.

Am I the only one noting some sort of beef between Shed and CB?? What seems to be your problem Shed? You have yet to make a positive comment on anything CB has done as far as I can tell. If his mod is bad, why not help him improve it

I love this mod...except for the *&@%ing XP bug.

Provide constructive advice, or take a hike, Shed (I recommend Snoqualmie Falls if you're in the area).

EDIT: Wait...for my next mod...I should actually make that item. Maybe i'd title it the "OverBalancer" or the "GameSmasher"

Ease off Blitz, this is exactly what I mean. Are you not all a modding COMMUNITY? Should you not then help and support eachother in a friendly fashion? I support all my friends in the viking community...

Relax, I wasn't flaming anyone.

I was simply encouraging him to get some exercise :D

And I agree with you. Constructive advice is the only kind you should give. Modders should support other modders, not tear them to pieces like weasels attacking a shoe.

Oh, and that was me.

I'm at High School. I'm so used to my home CPU auto-logging me in.

Oh, yeah, and I finished that Fortress Shield mod. Heh, heh. I'll make it so it insta-kills the user if he's below level 40 (hoo-ha-ha!).

Constructive criticism? Alright *deep breath*.

I believe there's a Fortress Shield +6 (protects from missiles, hastes user) in the poorly converted IWD dungeon. The Sword of Belvin meant to insta-kill anything below level 18.

The Sword of Belvin mimics the "deathblow" spell by using EFFs, but needn't. It ought to use the straight effect Death: Instant Death [13], with Text Notification set to 0, Death Type at 4. Also, having a +4 sword that kills enemies of level 18 and below is absolutely ridiculous. The story it was attached with was extremely long, uninteresting and seemingly irrelevant to the item. That also applies to the shield. The shield would make you effectively invulnerable. Again, ridiculous.

There was a ring that would supposedly make you able to see invisible enemies. It uses the effect Spell Effect: Invisible Detection by Script [193]. This effect is used for demons to detect invisible characters. They have blocks in their script to check for invisible but not protected from evil characters. However, just slapping the effect onto a player does nothing. Nothing at all.

The new areas, Hlondeth, the ranch etc. have no sense of purpose. It is not in the least clear what the player should be doing. The new town is largely empty. Entrances are hidden behind walls. The quests have apparantly, been carefully concealed. There's no one to talk to, no information to be had, no justification for the existence of the new areas, and no explanation of the few interesting things in the areas., Everything is dark and fuzzy. It is painfully, painfully obvious where the areas have been put together. Fuzzy blotches between new tilesets that's supposed to be a cliff.

The new worldmap took Athkatla away from the top-left. Since they're the most important areas in the game, why are they now harder to go to on the worldmap? It requires dragging every time.

Candlekeep... well, it contained the only amusing line I found in this mod. Problem is, it broke the fourth wall with a high speed truck. Otherwise, the whole chores affair was unforgivable and the only thing constructive I have to say about it is "Better left out." That said, I did rather like the HLA idea.

This forum contains little more than six pages of bug reports. I believe that this mammoth project was CBisson's first? Hardly recommendable for a first-timer (or n00b, if you will) to attempt a partial conversion.

The new spells seem to be no more than overpowered versions of existing versions. A partial conversion, if it will introduce new spells, should have some original or interesting spells, not just Familiar Spell +4. I appreciated the addition of some 3rd Edition spells, at least. The BAMs were disappointingly not in the BG style.

As for the packaging: there are two very large files needed. It wasn't clear from the start that both would be needed. One of them is WeiDU. One isn't. What's going on? Even on uninstallation, my chitin.key still had references to the .bifs. It absolutely destroyed my install.

This isn't personal. I have never met or spoken to CB himself. I just can't stand CtB.

I've thought about making a CtB tweak/fix mod. However, the biggest problem with this is that installing Check the Bodies in the first place is a big mistake. Making a CtB-be-gone mod might be worth it, but making CtB work and good would mean a total overhaul from scratch. Far easier to not, on all accounts. You're not missing much.

It is evident that there are serious short comings with every technical aspect of this mod.The n00b factor comes through in the overpowered nature of the new equipment this mod adds to the game.

To conclude, my advice to all players: Do not play with this mod. It isn't worth your time to download (hundreds of MB) or play.
