'Eyall,

I'm playing the BG1 portion of BP-BGT currently (kickass mod, btw :D) and kinda stumped on what party members I should choose. Currently my party looks like this:

PC (priest of mystra -- ye gods, this class is uber!)
Immy
Khalid
Jaheira
Branwen
Xan

when I reach Baldur's Gate, I plan on replacing Jaheira and Khalid with Alora (I know I know :P) and dualing Immy to a mage. Once in BG2, I'd get Kachiko and Yoshimo possibly...

My questions are:
- With BP-BGT, the "lite" party members like Branwen, Xan and Alora stay with the party allll the way until the end of TOB, correct?
- Do mod NPCs stay until the end of TOB? (Tashia, etc)
- If they do, will installing an NPC mod before I had a chance to meet them (ie. I'm still in the BG1 areas) mess up the game?

the ones who don't appear in BGII in BGII in some form will stay with you, yes. the ones who have a story in BGII (including those NPCs who have stories added by BP or its components - eg, Montaron, Yeslick, Kivan, etc) will leave you towards the end of the BGI part, and return at their usual locations in BGII.

- Do mod NPCs stay until the end of TOB? (Tashia, etc)

NPC mods are not changed in any way, so if they're supposed to stay til the end, they will.

- If they do, will installing an NPC mod before I had a chance to meet them (ie. I'm still in the BG1 areas) mess up the game?

possibly (sorry, can't give a better answer than that). it's usually advisable, just to be on the safe side, to only install BGII mods when you reach the BGII part of BP-BGT. they may well work properly with the BGI part, but if yr not going to be able to see them - eg, you don't meet Tashia until trademeet - you may as well not install the mod until you are nearer to using it.

None of the DSotSC NPCs will stay with you. They all leave with everyone else. Fabio from BoneHill never leaves Restenford, so he can't move to SOA either. Not to say that a DSotSC NPC has to leave. I know some of you have a fixation on Jet'Laya (Chev!).

Branwen - could be a problem in NeJ (mental note).

Same with Xan. Isn't it his cousin that you meet? Could make for some interesting dialogs.

And you meet Xan in part 2 in the future/past. I like Xan even more than Jet'Laya, but in a differnt way.

Ta' for the help!

Currently I'm in sidequest-land (aka BG2 chapter 2) and everything seems to work fine. Some weird things / quirks I've noticed though:
- The enhanced AI [kudos for that, btw] does weird things with some 'planned' battles, usually having the party fight two groups of monsters instead of one. Not a problem though, I like the added challenge.
- Bone Hill is a fine mod (the gnoll camp has to be one of the most intense battles in BG1, ever), but some items are a bit 'over the edge' imho: the "X Spellbook" (which is basically 100+k free xp for everyone, not to mention the spells :P ) and the hand you get after defeating the boss (the hold person spell appears to bypass MR and has no save, effectively nullifying Tazok, Angelo and Sarevok in the last battle -- Semaj has the Minor Globe so it doesn't affect him).
- The BG1-BG2 transition appears to be quirky (probably due to bioware's bg2 starter script). It took me at least 6 reloads to get Imoen to show up, and even then I couldn't save because...
- .. I finished TOTSC with this party: PC - Khalid - Branwen - Imoen - Alora - Xan. I got rid of Jaheira by using the "send her alone into a building and then reform party" trick. (This proceeded to bite me in the nether regions later on) Khalid left after zinging the demon, and so did Imoen (she immediately offered to rejoin though, so I invited her back); after returning to Belt, the transition just plain wouldn't work. I then went back to the place I dropped Jaheira, figuring her script was blocking the game from progressing, and dropped her from the party for good. All was fine and good (except for the inability to save and rest, which was a bit of a pain with all the bugbears), but after I entered the dryad grove, I was immediately greeted by... Khalid?! He gave his spiel about rejoining, I said no and he buggered off. After this, I was able to save and rest normally.
- There appear to be some weird string mismatches in my install (probably just my faulty setup though); Mae'Var's cronies during the transition blathered on about evil men stealing the iron and TOTSC's final chapter text [after killing the demon] was "But what of the Zhentarim, I've heard they were somehow involved". All other texts and strings are just fine, though.
- The ambush after 'unmasking' the tanner is very nasty -- almost too nasty. It took me several reloads to survive, since my only stoneskinner was Xan, and he had no more 'skins memorized. The fact that the Rune Assassins see invisible, are perma-hasted and aren't affected by True Sight / Reveal / etc doesn't help. :D

once again thanks for the kickass mods,

-- Z.

In the next patch for BoneHill, you will have to give up the Glorious Hand, sorry but it is too powerful on humans (shouldn't work on creatures). The spellbook is also gone (but hidden in the game, maybe). I had to pull the book from the Tutu version of the mod anyway (they don't have the TDD spells in that game). Lastly, you can't sell the black pearl either (makes sense actually, no one in town is going to buy it from you when they all know it was stolen).

NO! not the spell book! Please just hide it, but not too well. The hand is cool, but too powerful maybe just open locks?
