When I first installed CTB (after BP, and installed Kivan mod after CTB), it worked fine. But, I had the problem with it crashing when going to the bridge district. I first just did an uninstall and re-install, and the install went fine, but still had the bridge problem. Then I noticed the thread here talking about this problem, and saying to edit the tp2 file. I edited it as the thread says, and now I get a series of errors, and BGII won't ron.

After editing the tp2 file, I started getting many errors during install. I checked the backup folder, and there weren't any folders there, so I made the "0", "1", and "2" folders as recommended on the instructions page. I'm getting these errors:

"[checkbod/backup/3/UNSETSTR.3] SET_STRING uninstall info not found

I didn't notice getting any install errors until modifying the tp2 file as described above (to try to take care of the problem of it crashing when I try to go to the Bridge District). Those errors are from the debug file (the dos window actually says some other errors).

Ideas?

I tried uninstalling the Kivan mod, and re-installing the CTB mod, and got the same problems.

When I try running BG2, I now get this error:
"An Assertion failed in ChSound.cpp at line number 4905"

hello?

Do I need to uninstall all mods, uninstall BGII, reinstall BGII, and all mods? Any suggestions?

Assertion Error 4905 is a maxed-out songlist file: BP-BGT fills out all the available spaces for song, so mods which add to the songlist (which isnt the same thing as adding music) cause this error. do a search (if you can as an unregistered user) for this assertion error, you will find a fair number of entries from the last few weeks.

it hasn't been reported previously as being a problem with BP-BGT and CtB, so my question is: which other mods do you have installed? specifically: do you have Tashia or Longer Road installed? they both add to the songlist as well, causing this crash. the solution is fortunately quite simple: uninstall the mod that is causing the crash, and everything else will go back to working properly.

I'll do a search and see what I can find.

For other mods, I have The Big Picture, the Chloe mod, and Kivan mod. Don't know if they add anything in the way of songs.

I wasn't getting this error until I tried fixing the tp2 file and re-installing CTB.

yargh! (BTW, I registered)

I decided to uninstall all of the mods (and if BGII works, to re-install. If it doesn't, to uninstall BGII as well and re-install EVERYTHING). Problem now is - CTB won't uninstall. Running it from the windows menu doesn't work, so I ran the uninstall file directly - the DOS window that pops up says:

i hate to be the one to say this, but: i think yr best bet is to delete everything and reinstall the whole thing from scratch. something seems to have got totally hosed in all yr installing/ uninstalling/ reinstalling, and it is probably easiest and simplest to start from scratch - otherwise you'll probably keep running into unaccountable errors.

Chloe adds a song or two. Not sure about the others.

chloe, like many mods, adds music. it's only mods that add to the songlist.2da that are going to be incompatible with BGT (and not BP). unless Kivan, which i'm not familiar with, adds a whole *heap* of entries to songlist.2da. i'm guessing that yr install is stuffed - maybe the CtB uninstall didnt remove the entries it added and so when you reinstalled it tried to add them a second time? i dont know, to be honest: you shouldnt be having songlist problems with BP-CtB; the fact that you are would indicate that something pretty fatal has happened to yr install, i'd reckon.

Okay, I uninstalled EVERYTHING and reinstalled BGII (SoA and ToB), the patch, Big Picture, and then CTB with the modified tp2 file. Everything seems to work now, using my old saved game files from the prior install (which I saved somewhere else so they wouldn't be deleted during the uninstall). Bridge District works. I haven't installed the other mods I had - Chloe and Kivan NPC mods. I have both in my party, and not having them installed means Chloe is nice and quiet - but, without the mod installed, her kit apparently doesn't exist (she's apparently not a normal Kensai?), which results in her being a normal fighter, she of course doesn't have her weapons (which come with the mod), and oddly can't weild, wear, or use anything. :) Oh well, she was getting annoying anyway, I'd rather just ditch her than install the mod potentially screwing everything up again.
