And what about NEJ and the BP patch. Please could anyone give me a step by step instruction about how to do this? There were some instructions here already but it didn't tell when to install patches and in what order to install them. Please someone help.
Thanks.

1: install NeverEndingJourney-weiduv131.rar then
2: BP-NEJv12.rar (both extracted, of course)
then, after those two,
3: Big_Picture_s_and_h_Patch
and then (and only then!) whichever weidu mods you want.

in the automated install guide it says: "Verify the destination folder \BGII - SOA\TS-Install" but when the "Big Picture, FULL version 161G" installation screen appears I was directed to "--- In any case, auto or manual installation ----
Extract all contents to your game folder..."
Pretty confused in this little inconsistancy

the automated install guide say:
4x. The "Big Picture, FULL version 161G" installation screen appears. Verify that the Destination folder displays (file path "...\Black Isle\BGII-SOA\TS-Install") and select Install. If prompted to overwrite, select Yes.
and the BP, full version 161G installer says:
--- In any case, auto or manual installation ----
Extract all contents to your game folder...

THIS is how the files should look, and be, in your game folder--right before running the one-step installer.
The following assumes that you are using the default installation folder:
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\ (abbrev. as "...SoA\")
Green is for an execution file (.exe)
Red is for a folder (NOT a zip file)
Shadows over Soubar:
...SoA\Soubar101patch.exe
...SoA\Soubar_v100.exe
The Darkest Day:
...SoA\tdd103full.exe
...SoA\tdd103-to-103A-patch.exe
Tortured Souls:
...SoA\TSv50.exe
...SoA\TSv503.exe
...SoA\TSv504
...SoA\TSv505
(these folders will contain loose files)
...SoA\TS-Install
(at this point, this folder will be empty)
The Big Picture:
...SoA\BPv161G-FULL.exe
...SoA\BPv161G-AUTOINSTALL.exe
Big Picture s_and_h_Patch
...SoA\BP_s_and_h_Patch
...SoA\Setup-BP_s_and_h_Patch.exe
...SoA\Setup-BP_s_and_h_Patch.tp2
when you've got these files in the game folder, run BPv161G-AUTOINSTALL.exe. this is the BP install. to add NEJ, you will need these files in the game directory:
Never Ending Journey version 13 i:
...SoA\NeJ
...SoA\Setup-NEJ.exe
...SoA\Setup-NEJ.tp2
BP-NeJ version 12:
...SoA\BPNeJ
...SoA\Setup-BPNeJ.exe
...SoA\Setup-BPNeJ.tp2
NEJ version v1.4 Patch
...SoA\NeJFix
...SoA\Setup-NeJFix.exe
...SoA\Setup-NeJFix.tp2
run Setup-NEJ.exe. when it had finished, run Setup-BPNeJ.exe and Setup-NeJFix.exe. then, whenthey have finished, run Setup-BP_s_and_h_Patch.exe.
when this is done, you are in possesion of a full BP-NEJ install.
for BP only, ignore the NeJ files, and run Setup-BP_s_and_h_Patch.exe after the BPv161G-AUTOINSTALL.exe finishes its business.

Also, I go ahead and add the NeJ 14 patch. Before the 3.13 patch. This just fixes some creatures in NeJ and adds two bags for you to use. Not needed but it is better than trying to carry all that loot from Dragon Eye.

[EDIT] i've been shamelessly stealing fixes from 3.13 for the s_and_h v2 though: i'd already included the Acolyte fix that's also in NeJ1.4. the 3.13 patch explains why you BGT users aren't getting the same errors we BP users are getting: you've already got them patched .

be installed to? To game folder or TS-install? Coz Yazzuie's automatic install guide say BPv161G-FULL.exe should be installed to TS-install folder...

does it really? that would explain then why Yazzuie was never able to get the auto-installer to work... that'll have to be corrected.Yes, but to which folder should the BPv161G-FULL.exe
be installed to? To game folder or TS-install? Coz Yazzuie's automatic install guide say BPv161G-FULL.exe should be installed to TS-install folder...
as the directory listing above indicates, BPv161G-FULL.exe has to go in the main BGII folder.

I'm not so good with PC's so maybe I'm missing something basic here, but how do I actually install the Nej 13i.rar file & the bpnej v12.rar file I got from wizards-mirror? Its not zip or exe, and it doesn't get installed during the bP process. What should I do with them to install them. I tried just leaving them in the SOA directory, but they don't install with the other files? I'm just a p.c. beginner,so can you help me?

.rar is a compression format, like .zip. many mods are packaged as .rar for downloading. after downloading, you need to extract the files inside using a programme like WinRAR. once they're extracted, you'll find you have the following files, all of which must go in yr main BGII directory (like any mod):
NeJ (a folder)
Setup-NEJ.exe
Setup-NEJ.tp2
BPNeJ (a folder)
Setup-BPNeJ.exe
Setup-BPNeJ.tp2
then (this assumes you've already done a BP install, either manual or auto, but not yet installed the s_and_h Patch):
1: run Setup-NEJ.exe, then
2: Setup-BPNeJ.exe, then
3: the BP_s_and_h_Patch, and then whichever weidu mods you choose to install.
re: the error msg at the end of the BP auto-install. ignore it, and ignore its intructions, everything is working properly.

Next question can I use saved player-characters from an old un-modded BG2 game ,imported into the character-creation @ the start of BP-nej ? Are they compatible ,or do I have to start from a whole new character creation?

you can use them as normal.Next question can I use saved player-characters from an old un-modded BG2 game ,imported into the character-creation @ the start of BP-nej ? Are they compatible ,or do I have to start from a whole new character creation?
(but then all the "nice" kits are useless for u. )
