Great mod by the way, one of the few new things that I've been able to add and make the game more fun since the last time I played.

For information first: I have SoA (no ToB), the official patch and Baldurdash fixpack, few Baldurdash tweaks and cheats, Chloe (1.2) and Solaufein (in that order). And the system is MacOS 9.1 (which I found from the earlier posts has been working better with Chloe than MacOSX).
All has went well, I am still in the second chapter, have done all the other quests except Trouble in Trademeet and the Unseeing Eye. I (or my character ) have had the "what do you fear the most" conversation a long time ago, but nothing personal since. My character has intelligence 19, charisma 19. I am afraid I have done some awful mistakes in the answers to Chloe, or then I have been too slow in my game. Should I move on to chapter three?
I am asking this because I would like to know if I will have to start again from earlier save or not, and since I have done that so many times before to get the Jaheira romance to work on an earlier game (got the annoying loop few times before the fixes), and it really is nuisance to do that again and again. Oh well, I hopefully still have Sola waiting for me in the Underdark .
Oh yes, there has been some strange things happening too, like sometimes when party has slept, Aerie turns to main character like she is going to say something, and never does. And Chloe has stopped during walk, as if she was about saying something, and never did. One time I used the conversation icon to trigger her to say something after this had happened, and she said the "how does it feel" to Anomen (he had been given the title Sir some time ago before this happened).
I have also used all the given flirt options, asked all the questions, and now there is only left the "are you alright", "remind me of the questions" and "nevermind" -options. And should the talk of the Cheleste of Waterdeep lead on to something else, than just to the thing "ask me more next time we sleep", should Chloe react to this next time the party rests?

the 'what do you fear most' conversation is the last of the GTKU talks; the next one is a love talk, with chloeromanceactivecr=2. so: yr CHAR is a woman, right? just checking, but chloe only romances women. yr also human, elven or half-elven, yeah? then: you didnt piss her off or give flippant answers to serious questions, did you? that decreases her interest in you: if yr 'chloeinterest' variable is too low, she's not going to proceed onto the romance proper. then: have you been romancing anyone else, and/or do you have a multiple romance mod installed? *if* you've been romancing someone else *and* you havent got a multiple romance mod installed, chloe (and all other NPCs other than yr love interest - this includes Sola) will kick directly from romanceactive=1 (they're interested) to romanceactive=3 (it's over) without passing through romanceactive=2 (it's on!)
you might want to do a CLUA to check what chloeromanceactivecr is set to: there are lots of tutorials on this site, on pocketplane.net, teambg.net and camagna.net describing how to use the CLUAConsole if you dont already know how to.
if yr PC is a woman, and you havent pissed chloe off, and yr not romancing anyone else *or* you've got a multiple romance mod installed, then i'd say you've got a bad installation. i've had the problem you described, but not with chloe or sola; the solution was uninstalling the mods and reinstalling them (in a different order, if possible). so: save yr game, uninstall chloe and sola, then reinstall them (if a different order to how you installed them intially, if possible).

I am afraid it is the installation (which is really difficult to do, since I can't do it at home), as I am having other problems as well, but re-installation didn't help much. And I have re-installed the whole game with everything needed and the mods I need already a couple of times after strange things started to happen in the game, so I guess re-installing won't solve anything, it might just be that there is something wrong with our computer *sigh*.
I am telling about the other problems in another thread. I don't know, it seems I have been having problems with the romances since I got the game, with the official ones as well (well never tried the Anomen or Aerie romance, but the others). Maybe I will have to try them out first to see, if the official patch and the Baldurdash fixpack really helped, without the mods .
One thought game to my mind, maybe the problem is, that the character I have is imported from BGI, could that be somehow doing some damage?

unfortunately, the only thing to do is a full, clean install: uninstall the game, [make sure you have backups of chloe and sola], delete the BGII directory, start the whole thing again. the burnt CD shouldnt be a problem, although if yr husband was to save Chloe as a .zip or .sit file, you should be able to open and run it on the mac normally.
before you go bashing yr head against a wall tho, check Balduran's Aventuring Spa and Grill: it's a forum for Mac BGII problems: if yr problem is Mac based, it's highly likely someone has had it before, in which case someone on this site has probably got a solution for you.
but, in general: the messed up dialogue would indicate yr installation is screwed; if you've reinstalled the mods and it made no difference, then it's not the mods. hence, it's gotta be the game. make sure you delete BGII directory. make sure you do a *full* install when you reinstall. make sure you install SOA, TOB, official TOB patch, Baldurdash fixpack *in that order*. cross yr fingers. hope for the best. good luck!

I have tried to find the commands (for CLUAConsole) to be able to read the Chloe interest value etc. but have not find them (although I remember seeing them somewhere earlier). I would be really grateful if someone could tell them to me.

there is an *excellent* romancing guide available at www.sorcerers.net, author: Slappy with Extremist. it only lists the four Bioware romances, but it lists all the necessary variables, all the dependent dialogues, and the effects of all dialogue choices. i'd thoroughly recommend it. according to said guide, anomenromanceactive=2 doesnt occur until LoveTalk=27, so yr fine so far.
Chloe uses slightly different variables to the Bioware romances: she uses the global variable 'ChloeGTKUCR' for her - err - GTKU dialogues; and the global variable (note: *not* local) 'ChloeLovetalksCR' for the actual lovetlalks, and (altho i might be mistaken on this last point) 'ChloeromanceactiveCR' for whether yr friends(=1), in a relationship with chloe(=2) or she's lost interest(=3).

i know what you mean about the CLUAConsole: i have this pet theory that BGII is actually a giant conspiracy to turn gamers into programmers...
Thanks for the link, I'm gonna check it as soon as possible.
So I found the values, and it seems Chloe romance is over (before it even begun). Oh well I have couple of earlier saves, though .
I also checked the Anomen romance (for fun of it) and I got a value which sounds strange:
AnomenRomance Global set to 495698 - should it be like this?
I guess this is normal value for Chloe after all the GTKU dialogs: ChloeGTKUCR -1?

anomenromance - like all the NPCRomance globals and the ChloeomanceCR global - is a timer [in 1/4 seconds, or something like that] that is just ocunting down the time til the next LoveTalk from that NPC (in this case Anomen) initiates. so that's cool.
ChloeGTKU -1 is a way the chloe script makes sure that the GTKU talks have *really* finished and the lovetalks are about to start. basically, ChloeGTKU -1 is *a good thing*. the script at this point looks for a few other variables - that yr female; human, elven or half-elven, and that yr ChloeInterest Global is >8 and <17.
if yr ChloeInterest is <8, then the romance is over: ChloeRomanceActiveCR=3 (3 is always the setting for 'romance over'). you can reset this with the CLUAConsole:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ChloeInterest","GLOBAL",9)
(or any value greater than 8 and less than 17) will do it.
if yr in Ch2, it then sets a timer to start the first LoveTalk that is ELEVEN hours long - that's 11 *real* hours of gameplaying. so my guess is you've actually done everything right, and the timer is slowly working it's way down.
if yr in Ch3, this value gets rest to '550', which is [i think] abot 140 seconds of real time: so basically the Chloe romance is supposed to pause after the GTKUs finish until you get into Ch3. so ,err, in answer to yr question from way back: you should move into Ch3, and (assuming yr ChloeInterest is high enough) everything should kick off quite quickly.
[EDIT] ok, i might have made a mistake in that last paragraph. the short LoveTalk counter kicks off when yr in a Chapter greater than Ch3 but *not* greater than Ch4: which means it kicks off when you get to Spellhold (start of Ch4), not when you start Ch3.

Hopefully I get it right this time . By the way, my husband has begun to draw an image of Chloe, perhaps it will be ready within a few weeks (he's very slow and thorough when he works with a portrait ). I think I will post it to the Fan Art section then. There are few others of his images already.

I could probably even include it as an alternate Chloe portrait if you like assuming it would look good shrunken down to fit into the game.
It will propably, 'cause he's doing it for us to use in the game, and will try to do it the BGII style from the beginning (unlike the ones I've posted to the Fan Art section, they were originally just quite large portraits of characters in another games - though they seem to nicely fit in with the BGII too).
