Hello,
I am planning on doing my 1st ever truly epic BGT-game, using the Big World project and have some questions:-

1) If I install all relevant Big World Project-downloads, are The Tortured Souls and NEJ megamods compatible with each other? I read that they weren't recommended to be installed together - or was that check the bodies and nej or tortured souls? I can never remember.

2) I'd read that Ascension 1.4.23 was hopelessly buggy, and that the 1.4.21 version was bug-free. If I, instead, install, ascension v1.4.21, would that work out OK with the Big World-install, as a whole? Or would the 1.4.23 version be OK for this Big World Install?

I think that the BWP's fixpack cures few of the problems like it does for the BPv1.77, which actually is the component that caries most of the Ascension mods content, you'll need both of them so you get the real "Ascension", into the game.

1) Let's just state that you are referring to the TS-BP 6.10 -right?-, when referring to the The Tortured Souls. :whistling:
And from a philosophical point of stand, didn't we just have this conversation recently? ^_^
Yes, I know, it's better to worry before... than regret later...
Now I would ask Leomar or somebody else, to add anything more they might think would be relevant to the matter... if there is any, as even I have a special interest in it.

Install BOTH ascension 1.4.21 AND ascension 1.4.23? - most modders usually advise never to downloads different versions of the same mod together without uninstalling one of them, first. Well, if you're sure....

I think Jarno meant install BP177 without its last component which is Ascension and install the actual Ascension mod seperately. The BWP project install order is clear on this but I am not sure if you are going for an expert installation.

No, Ascension 1.4.23 and BPv1.77(+ BP ToBfix). Because if you don't have the BP1.77, you won't have the real Ascension, just one(number 4) component from it.
But then again if you have the tDD already installed, some the 50 level rule's component of ascension(number 15) is already there. :whistling:

1.) If you want to use NeJ, Ascension or whichever mod you want, please use the version numbers their are listed in our guide or from our Linklist. We installed all these versions and our BW Fixpack depends on these versions. Are there discrepancies between the mods you can read about it in our guide and we try to solve this issues with our installation order and the BW Fixpack.

2.) Ascension is outdated because the mod overwrites files instead of patching files and that causes some problems. You have the possibility to install it, but must live with the upcoming problems. In terms of installing use the version mentioned in the guide with the mod Big Picture, like the others stated. If you want to use Ascension I recommended SCSII and "Wheels of Prophecy", because both mods fixes some issues in Ascension, too.

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Well, I was hoping to avoid the Big Picture mod like the plague as it was so notoriously buggy in the past, by comparison to other mods. I just wanted to have BGT and scs2 and the other mods. You're saying that Big Picture is essential to a Big World project mega-install? Fair enough then, I'll add it into the download for next week when I start finally playing.

The other thing that worries me is that the big picture ai clashes with the scs2 ai and tactics ai - presumably, I have to choose between them not install all 3 ai-types and install teh big-picture versions of improved kanggaxx not the tactics version etc.? Also, one item improved spellhold of BP is a problem if, like me, you want lots of item-mods installed.

Well, if you want the primary component of the Ascension mod, then yes.

But none of the mods are actually needed, if they don't need each others... for the mod combination to be 'determined' as Big World project mega-install, and be compatible.

Not really. You can install BWP without BP. But if you want to install Ascension, then yes.
Like Jarno said.
