Hey I might have just come accross an error. I'm switching from BG to BGII right now. I uninstalled BGTMusic by hand and then installed the Nalia romance(well actually the one that has her last name in the title, but I forgot how to spell that). When I tried to start up BGII, the game wouldn't start as it was giving some error message. I eventually checked the songlist, and found these entries.

I shortened the list to be only go up to 99 and eveything fixed itself. I checked the post-installer and I didn't see anything to fix this. I suppose it is possible that I accidently edited out the lines of code in the installer that are supposed to fix this, but I still felt I should bring it up.

The error is caused because you have too many mod NPC mods, usually the GUI installer(setup-gui.tp2 at least in previously- before the BGTMusic) helps with this thing as it removes the extras...

But understandably that won't help if you don't reinstall the thing... as you should... hmm, the BGTMusic should have option to use the BG2 music, so the mod actually needs to be reinstalled. :D

AFTER THE TRANSITION would all be ok if i run the post-installer? Or do you have to manually reinstall BGTMusic?
ANd when should i run the post-installer? During the chores or after i see the opening screen of Irenicus dungeon? (for example would it be ok if i run it just after imoen comes and talk to me?

If you want to alter reality, you must first escape from it.

Just came across a bug that causes a crash.

With all the recommended mods installed and no abnormalities heres what I found

Bjorn at Jovial Jester, Beregost has new dialog and a quest (not sure if the quest is vanilla or not). Anyways after talking and getting the quest if you proceed to leave the area to a new one it crashes as you enter the new area.

This happens every time, also it corrupts the Autosave AND any save after the talk with Bjorn.

The bug isn't a show stopper since you can just avoid him, but I thought you should know.

You can use beregost crash fixer to fix your last save and everything should be fine.

for some reason, i can't successfully use any of the thieves abilities.
i tried bumping it up to various numbers up to 255 with shadow keeper, but even then it always fails.
lockpick, pickpocket.
is this a known bug? is there a fix?

edit:
this post can be deleted, removing all items/clothing solves it, so it's probably a penalty on some gear.

Gah, I apparently just found one of the biggest flaws of doing a megamod....I'm paralyzed into inaction by the sheer volume of my choices now that I am in BGII. Heck just for kicks I started a ToB game to see how many characters could be summoned into the pocket dimension. There was a grand total of about 39(although I forgot if that included the menu exit option and it did include 5 lover variants). And I'm pretty sure that a large number of characters were missing from that list, although how many of the missing characters have ToB content I don't know.

I think I'm probably going to do TS on my first playthrough so that I feel less guilty when I CTRL+Y off Kachiko in future playthroughs to get Yoshimo by himself. I just don't know what other stuff I should do alongside that.*sigh*

As a side note does anyone know if any place has a list which would indicate what NPC mods have ToB content?

@ azgarth

and another edit (are you guys getting as tired of this as i am?):

Nice to hear, that you could solve your starting problems. :)

@ lac

According to Demivrgvs, Spell Revision's author, when he said 'install SCS Fiends Hot Fix after SCS' he meant
after SCSII. Thus the pdf recommends installing it in the wrong place.

Thanks a lot for this important information. We'll change it. ;)

@ dragonian

1. And probeably most important one - is there going to be another version soon ( asking only because i want to know if i should proceed with install now or wait some more time - really don`t mean to rush you)

Can't say at the moment. We wanted to release a v5.6 in this month, but Leonardo's computer has a horrible crash. :(
Your second question has answered Ranadiel.

@ Selinde Ar-Feiniel

After the transition directly: If you have CtB installed I think you must do a quicksave. Without CtB a quicksave happens automatically after the dialog with Imoen. Do nothing else. After the quicksave, finish the game and run the Post-Install.bat. If you want to do it manually you need to uninstall BGT-Music only. If you have much NPC Mods installed you must install another BGT-GUI interface to avoid the problem, Ranadiel have had.

@ xenophon

Yep, the others are right. This is a well known BGT bug and you can fix it with the Beregost Crash Fixer.

@ Ranadiel

Here is a great BG Completed NPC & Romance List v3.1

Hmm I'm taking a quick look at it, and while it is useful, I see a couple of errors in it immediatly. And it is also missing info on some of the NPCs present in the bigger projects. I guess I'll just have to do the research myself when I get back from seeing my brother over the weekend.

Thanks Leomar! I've followed by letter your BWP version guide (the standard version). So i run the post installer after the first autosave. That's clear!

If you want to do it manually you need to uninstall BGT-Music only. If you have much NPC Mods installed you must install another BGT-GUI interface to avoid the problem, Ranadiel have had.

Well... i don't want to do it manually...lol I'd rather follow your post intaller too. So if i run the post installer, then i still need to install a BGT-GUI interface? Or it is installed by the post installer? I have all the NPC's listed in BWP standard version (if you question me how many NPC's i've installed ).
Well, maybe one or two less, because i didn't installed some which had not english translation.

If you want to alter reality, you must first escape from it.

i ran into the old "immortal tolgerias" bug again.
i just added shapeshift mindflayer and used devour brain untill he was dead, but still, i thought you guys might want to know.

edit:
different problem
when you walk out of the sphere to go get the demon heart, it instead puts you back in the slums.
clua to 0414 still allows you to continue though.

Without the BG1, it's mods via BGT? If yes, then this. So yes.

I do not know what you mean by 'play the BWP using just BG2 + ToB' -- there are many things you could mean,
and this is not a case of your bad english, (or mine) but that it could mean many things. But if what you want to know is:

can I use the pdf here
http://www.shsforums...m...&showcat=72

to build yourself a build that isnt a BGT build and only uses SoA and ToB, by following the order there
and only using relevant mods for your BG2 state ---

YES YES YES! I am doing this now.

There are 3 caveats I know of now, you need to know before you make your build though.
The first concerns Ding0s quest pack (Quest not Tweak).

read http://www.shsforums...showtopic=37926

and install Steve's fix for Ding0s quest pack. This works while the original mod will screw things up
royally. I know both the second and the first from personal experience.

The last 2 I know more personally as an Item Revisions and Spell Revisions Tester. (There, with a
capital T, I have given me a title. :) But I am sure that Demivrgvs and Mike1072 won't mind :) )

The pdf is wrong when it suggests you place the SR Fiend fix for SCS directly after SCS. It should be
after SCSII as well. And, well, do not install P&P Free Action with Spell Revisions. They are
incompatible now, and as it stands now if you install P&PFA after SR Divine spells, you will totally
destroy the cleric spell remove paralysis. It won't do it. Fix is most likely to be that SR has the
abilities in the component, P&P Free Action is only for those as not have SR -- but that is not
decided yet.

see: http://forums.gibber...showtopic=16224
same thread to see the uncovering of both bugs. But since you are likley to want to build
a build ASAP if you question was as I understand it, I thought I would warn you.

next BWP will have the SR fiend fix in the correct place, and the correct warning for the P&P free action/SR interaction.

I don't know if we have the time for it for the next release, but we'll try it.

Is this a "Planar Sphere" bug? Have you a link?

Is this an "Planar Sphere" bug and can you show us a link, too? If not, can you explain the problem a little bit more?

@ lac

next BWP will have the SR fiend fix in the correct place, and the correct warning for the P&P free action/SR interaction.

Thanks for finding this out and your wonderful help.
Now, we'll put "PnP Free Action" in expert-version until the new "Spell Revisions" comes out, then we'll delete "PnP Free Action" from the BWP.

as for immortal tolgerias,
i've had the same problem with a previous megamod install, basically comes down to tolgerias being unkillable.
ctrl+y doesn't work, the easiest known solution is to use the mindflayer devour attack (standard attack after shapeshift) to drain his int, this kills.
i found a link, though its not too clear there: http://www.shsforums...showtopic=27986

as for the area problem,
when you have to get the heart to power the sphere, you need to go outside, but the door to outside, that should now point to the map in which the demons are (AR0414), still points to the slums.
clua-ing to the proper area, getting the heart, then going back works though.

In the installer, it said I didn't have the NTotSC patch, which I did, so I changed all the references in the installer to: NTotSCv163. I also changed CoMUndying to TheUndying.

The error is caused because you have too many mod NPC mods, usually the GUI installer(setup-gui.tp2 at least in previously- before the BGTMusic) helps with this thing as it removes the extras...

I am prepping an install and I didn't know which NPCs to grab, so I grabbed most of them. I figured I'd come across them in game and then decide who to add to my party. How do I know if I have too many? And where do I get the GUI installer?

Speaking of NPCs, one that looked interesting but wasn't part of this project is Chloe:

http://www.spellhold...os.net/ie/chloe

Part of me wanted to add her to the install, but I'm worried I will have to many NPCs.
