#36 Challenge: Fear

The Baldur's Gate series has many situations where any sane person would panic and go weep in the corner out of sheer fear. For example the very beginning - seeing your foster father murdered right in front of you and left alone in the forest knowing that there are armed, dangerous people looking for you, and you only. Or perhaps the moment when you wake up in the Asylum only to lose control of yourself and try and murder your companions and loved ones? The situations are aplenty and I challenge all of you to participate in illustrating them!

Be creative and delve into the essence of fear. You can use whatever creative means you like as long as the end product is yours! You have two weeks time - have as much fun as you can with fear.

And talking about fear, playing BG I've discovered Firkraag's little phobia, and this is my entry:

Oh, eh, sure, it can be Irenicus.
Actually, it started as a cloaked figure giving a theatrical bow, then came a random head a little further above, then came the realization that with a few lines I could connect the two.
Then came Ilmy, claiming 'fear' was less generic than 'murder'...




Aw, the screenshot refuses to open... But, hmmm... Interesting... Poor Firky... O-o

Wow, I must have been psychic or something because I was totally thinking this was going to be next!

Here's a picture from my little AU BG story, "Tales of Beregost High", affectionately dubbed "Baldur's Gate High School" or "BGHS" on DA. It's like an amalgamation of a modern-day high school setting and the fantasy setting of the Forgotten Realms. Anyway, I just thought it suited the challenge perfectly, since it's poking fun at Xan's fear of kobolds.

Teehee. Love the image of Firkraag, Lythari! It's so cute!

Now, my picture....this was based off of when I saw Sammi's BG High kobold picture. And the fact that I like breaking the 4th wall. If you've ever heard a Yorkie, you'll know that they sound just like the kobold sound effect.



The lady reading the book is an OC of mine and the Fourth Wall Pub belongs to Vhaira. ^^ Isn't Xan's familiar cute? And it seems I can't draw a picture without crossing it over with something else....

Um... Lythari, why does your battle description say "Red Dragon" and not "Firkraag"? I'm really curious. And I like the drawing much - the scared dragon is quite convincing, and the moondog just like I imagine it.

Sammi, not fair! You used a previously-posted drawing, and robbed us all of the pleasure of "Oh, goody! Sammi's post! What's she up to now?"

Um... Lythari, why does your battle description say "Red Dragon" and not "Firkraag"? I'm really curious. And I like the drawing much - the scared dragon is quite convincing, and the moondog just like I imagine it.

Well, it is red dragon, because I fought with Firkraag some time ago and I haven't any screenshots and previous saves from that battle, and starting new game to get that single screenshot would have taken too much time so I've just tried to use CLUAConsole to summon Firkraag, but I had an error so I summoned random red dragon because it is the same species and doesn't make too much difference. It was only to prove that dragons fear dogs. I'm sorry...

It's quite possible, my dear Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction.
And your image really doesn't want to show up (maybe you should download it to your computer and upload it as an attachment in .jpg, with my pictures it always works.)
