I have the big world project installed. Upon starting BG2, it is impossible to continue to chateau irenicus without going to NEJ portal first there is a message "an invisible force prevents you from going further" despite having the portal key in my possession. Anyway, I started playing through NEJ and after meeting Hrothgar in the Tavern and putzing about Easthaven a bit, I went to go see him in his house which seems to be area TT1004 but I can't go inside because I get a CTD. The autosave complete but the game crashes before loading the area. If this is an old bug I haven't been able to find anything on the forums.

So please help Any suggessions?

Did you biff your game? To me it sound like something got corrupted during install. Do you know how to use NI to look at TT1004.are and see what resources it needs? Then move a copy of them into your override folder. See if that helps.

Yes the area is now in end-area.biff. I am not really savy with NI, I can open the area but the data from there doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I summoned Hroth outside (createcrea hroth08) and talked to him and it worked to get the poomab quest, not sure if I will get more problems later though.

How do I check for resources? I'm the only one with this problem ever? There weren't any errors with NEJ during install that I recall

You may try extracting the ARE, TIS, WED and 3 BMP(s) into the override for a permanent fix. Seems like the TT areas may work better in override than data. You can extract all of them with NI just in the categories of ARE, TIS, BMP etc. All will have prefix TT1004.xxx and that may yield a permanent fix for your current game.

On each file, right click and choose export, select destination as the override folder.
