[Release] BGT-WeiDU version 1.05b

BGT-WeiDU v1.05b has been released! Get it from the usual places (http://www.shsforums...showtopic=23549) when it is uploaded to the servers. Check the SHS mirror for first availability. Changes from BGT-WeiDU v1.05a are available at http://www.shsforums...showtopic=30070.

BGT-WeiDU v1.05b has been released! This update corrects a few residual problems from the item installation changes introduced in version 1.05a, fixes a few gameplay bugs and bugs with sound importation, adds the Traditional Chinese language, and modifies the iron shortage effects, most prominently the removal of armor and shield shattering. Old saved games are likely to be rendered incompatible with this update, so a new game is recommended.

Check here regularly for updates for known bugs and issues to be resolved. Please DO NOT post bugs in this topic, else they will be moved or deleted.

Changes for BGT-WeiDU v1.06

Installation changes
- Added compatibility data for BG1NPC Project installation
- All joinable NPC soundset strings are now appended to dialog.tlk instead of some of them using existing dialog.tlk references
- Corrected installation problems with the Traditional Chinese translation
- Fixed a bug in the Italian installation where the text was missing indicating a failure with detecting the BG1 directory
- Installation prompts for viewing readme
- Modified auto-installation - readme prompt needs to be suppressed with --skip-at-view
- Naming convention changes (BG1->BGT): TANARI.BCS -> BGTANARI.BCS, SPIN996.SPL -> BGIN996.SPL (TANARI_DEATH_GAZE), SPWI925.SPL -> BGWI925.SPL (KAISHAS_CHANGE; was formerly SPKI925.SPL), SPWI947.SPL -> BGWI947.SPL (GREATER_WOLFWERE_CHANGE)
- Overhauled post-installation notes and readme presentation (English only at this stage)
- Prefixed in-lined files to prevent corruption of the installation
- Updated Castilian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese translations
- Updated to BiggDU v208
- Version number now deferred to the VERSION command instead of in translation files

Bug fixes
- Corrected enchantment level for Short Bow +1
- Corrected inconsistency between travel time and encounters between Ulgoth?s Beard and Wyrm?s Crossing
- Corrected the music problems with Gorion's death cutscene
- Corrected the proficiencies for Short Bow +1, Long Bow of Marksmanship, and Eagle Bow
- Corrected the removal of journal entries for the quest of rescue/kill Dynaheir in two cases
- Dradeel no longer takes the spellbook from the player unless the quest was originally accepted
- Emissary Tar on Level 3 of the Iron Throne building now disappears if the player avoided her and visited Level 5 where Emissary Tar is found killed
- Fixed a bug where a large number of area ambients did not play
- Fixed a bug in some installations where joinable NPC soundsets were incorrect
- Fixed a bug in the French installation that did not contain the sounds for the Tales of the Sword Coast text screens
- Fixed a bug where one of Cythandria's ogres did not disappear upon the player showing her mercy
- Fixed a bug where the Castilian prologue textscreen text was missing
- Fixed a bug where the final journal entry for the retrieval of Hurgan's dagger still mentioned the messenger from Ulgoth's Beard
- Fixed a bug where Tiax's Summon Ghast summoned a skeleton rather than a ghast
- Fixed a stutter bug with Kagain in relation to his quest
- Fixed an error that broke the transition from Baldur?s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast to Shadows of Amn
- Fixed an inconsistency between the dialogues of Dradeel and Kaishas regarding Dradeel's story on Balduran's voyage
- Fixed an inconsistency in Branwen's joining/leaving dialogue due to the petrification check
- For characters with no experience, summoning a familiar, exporting the character, and re-importing the character, no longer permanently grants hit points (characters with greater than zero experience are unaffected)
- Ghasts formed by Aec'Letec no longer drop loot
- Hopefully really fixed problems with moving the wrong version of Edwin, Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, and Viconia using MoveGlobal(), MoveGlobalObject(), and MoveGlobalObjectOffScreen() if they were alive and not in the party during transition to Shadows of Amn, due to duplicate entries in BALDUR.GAM
- Jaheira no longer utters an INITIAL_MEETING sound after she is imported into Shadows of Amn
- Lady Beth no longer has a leftover Baldur's Gate script that changes her dialogue
- Re-coded the setting of starting hit pionts and application of the constitution bonus/penalty
- The guards in the Merchant League no longer refer the player to Brandilar about investigating Zorl and Irlentree when the quest is completed

Gameplay changes
- Aec'Letec now correctly turns targets into Ghasts
- Belt now asks the player if they are ready to transition to Amn
- Edwin now appears if Dynaheir was rescued but she died and is no longer in the party
- Karoug now correctly morphs into WOLFWEGR instead of WOLFGR01 as per Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast behaviour
- New characters and characters imported directly into Shadows of Amn with no experience are now forced to level up before the game continues
- The zombie farm is now only accessible from the Baldur's Gate side of Wyrm's Crossing
- Ulgoth's Beard is now placed in the lore-correct position on the world map - it can only be accessed on the left exit of Wyrm's Crossing

This reminds me of something that I'd completely forgotten about. Originally I'd planned that doing the Mysterious Vial quest on BGT/Tutu should reduce the chance of weapons breaking (by granting immunity to one of several breakage effects), but I never got round to implementing it.

Since BG1 NPC Project version 15 is hopefully at the doors in a matter of few days, I am wondering if there might be a BGT 1.06 release soon after it or, if that is not possible, if there is a way to patch 1.05b with the extra compatibility data present in BGT 1.06.

1.06 is 'when its done', which I hope is soon too. I won't be making any compatibility patch for 1.05b, because it is a little difficult to implement, and will force re-installs anyway.

Does this apply to SPKI924.SPL from BG1UB as well? (BERESH_CHANGE)

It will probably change through BG1UB, but it's got nothing to do with BGT.

I know, it's just that a hotfix for SCS depends on these resource names, and I better change this before people start using BGT 1.06.

I'm trying to install the patch. It seems to be stuck at "Queried <pid=260>" for me.

Whoopsie, ignore the above. I accidentally replied here instead of the "Stuck at BG/SOA transition" thread, and it turns out the patch worked after all. Sorry about that.
