Stolen Life
Anni's lungs labored, trying to get air in this small space. The door to the glass container opened, she looked up into the eyes of Irenicus.
"This cannot be!" He yelled as he jerked her to her feet his hands on either side of her face. He stared intensely into her eyes and pain ripped through her as he invaded her mind again. He dropped her on the ground and turned to Bodhi. "Remove this trash and Imoen too."
"Yes my brother."
---
Bodhi had let them in Spellhold?s maze by time they had left Anni swore if she ever had to solve a bloody riddle again she was going to kill someone. - Oh wait, I'm still going to kill someone . - She smiled at the thought of killing Irenicus as she eyed the residents of the asylum. They had agreed to face him with them. This time she wouldn't back down, this time she was going to make sure they never came across Irenicus ever again.
---
"What is this? You have released all of my test subjects? How wonderfully mad of you. I didn't expect this in the least, so dangerously risky it is." Irenicus laughed as they warped into the room.
"It doesn't matter Irenicus, you will die here!" Anni yelled at him.
"I think not false god child. To think I wasted so much time on a decoy." Anni only blink. -WTF?-
"What the hells are you talking about?"
"You are no child of Bhaal. Your soul contained no divine spark that I needed. Your life has been a lie ." With at parting shot Irenicus disappeared.
"What was he talking about?" Anni asked no one in particular.
"Nothing child, he was trying to distract you." Jaheira answered.
" Jaheira we have to tell her." Imoen whispered.
"Tell me what?" Anni glared at the two of them. Jaheira looked at her then down unable to meet her eyes.
"You are Gorion's daughter."
"Duh, I know he thought of me as a daughter."
"No, you are his flesh and blood. You are not one of the children." Before Anni could speak Jaheira quickly continued. "We wanted to protect the real child of the prophecy, Imoen is the one that will take over Bhaal's throne."
"I'm sorry Anni. I wanted to tell you but I wasn't allowed." Imoen implored her friend. "I'm sorry." Anni took a step back her face gone pale.
"I don't understand. Why? How?"
"The plan was to use another child to draw the taint away from Imoen. That child would believe to be one of the Children and the darkness from the taint would affect them instead of Imoen, therefore keeping her good. Gorion suggested we use his own child, he wasn't thinking right at the time, your birth had killed your mother. By time he realized what he had done it was too late. The only way to reverse the spell is for either you or Imoen to die. You couldn't be told in case someone was able to force themselves into your mind. You have to understand Anni it was for the greater good."
"Gorion was my father? But what of my powers?"
"They are yours naturally. Your mother was a powerful sorceress and you know about Gorion abilities."
"So all the pain and suffering I've put up with is for nothing !? Hearing Bhaal all the time, having those thoughts the bloodlust and all this other shit was just to protect Imoen?"
"It was necessary, I'm sorry. We all believed you would understand when you came to know, I can see that this is hard for you." Anni couldn't believe this. Her best friends had lied to her, they did it her whole life! She felt that anger that sometimes came with Bhaal, but this was different. THIS was HER bloodlust. HER anger. She HATED. She trembled with the awesomeness of it.
Jaheira hugged the shaking girl wanting to comfort her as she cried. Her eyes went wide as a sharp pain developed in her chest. She stepped back and looked down. Anni had a bloody dagger in her hand. Jaheira fell to her knees as blood filled her mouth and spilled out.
"Well I don't." Anni started laughing, her tone talking on a maniacal note.
"What have you done?" Imoen whispered in horror.
"My lady, why have you done this?" Anomen's eyes were wide.
"What they did was wrong but killing Jaheira won't change the past." Valygar stated.
"She deserved it. I would have done the same.(Though with more pain involved and slower)" Edwin looked to Anni, who had stopped laughing.
Minsc didn't have anything to say as he was shocked by his witch's actions.
"It was suppose to be me! I was the one that was going to keep everything bad from happening. I was the one that suffered, while you, you never suffered. You stole my LIFE !" She screamed at Imoen.
"Anni, I'm sorry but I didn't have a choice in this either, please we have to resurrect Jaheira soon or we'll lose her!"
"No...no, there will be no more second chances. For anyone." She stepped over Jaheira's body and started towards Imoen. "I will rid myself of my, no your taint once and for all."
Valygar, Anomen and Minsc rushed forward to stop her, it did little good as she cast a spell to freeze them in place. She grasped her mace as she approached her once best friend. "I'll take back what is mine !" Imoen tried to dart away but Anni's mace connected with her skull knocking the girl to the ground.
"Anni you must stop this madness! Nothing good will come of this." Anni turned and stared at Anomen, she pointed her finger at him and like a flame his life was snuffed out.
"This has gone too far, I understand you are mad but you cannot continue. I won't allow it."
"You don't understand at all, everything's a lie. I can't have you coming after me. You always complain about magic Valygar, so tell me how you like this spell. It's called Imprisonment." He had no chance as the spell was cast and he was gone. She turned looking at Minsc.
"This is wrong! Boo agrees you have a right to be mad. Boo knows you aren't thinking with your head. B-"
"I'm sorry Minsc." She carelessly turned him to stone as she turned back to Imoen, who was waking up. "My whole life I suffered, I was an orphan and then I was a Bhaalspawn. I had a father and couldn't know it because of you."
"Anni please! I'm your friend don't do this."
"No, friends don't let friends suffer and go through hell. I went through hell for you Imoen, I loved you but you are nothing to me now." She swung her mace again and again. Imoen's blood was on her skin and all over her clothes as Imoen finally died her body turning to dust. When she died the spell dissipated, Anni couldn't hear Bhaal anymore, there was no more pain, the taint was gone. But she was still angry. "I'll kill them all. If I can't have the power, none of the others will."
She turned to leave and came face to face with Edwin. "Are you planning on stopping me Edwin?"
"No. They deserved it."
"I don't feel any guilt for this.?
?Why should you? (Pity you didn?t make that cleric?s dead more painful.)?
?I want the power I was promised. I want Faerun under my heel. I want it all."
"As do I." He smiled wickedly. "Everything will be ours my love." He brushed her bloodstained hair away from her face. "Didn't I say you were stronger than them? We will have your power one way or another. You will be the next Goddess of Murder one way or another."
"Yes." She whispered as he kissed her.

Mme. Thenardier:
I used to dream that I would meet a prince
But God Almighty, have you seen what's happened since?
Master of the house? Isn't worth me spit!
`Comforter, philosopher' and lifelong sh*t!
Cunning little brain, regular Voltaire
Thinks he's quite a lover but there's not much there
What a cruel trick of nature landed me with such a louse
God knows how I've lasted living with this bastard in the house!

I must agree.
I saw this once before, and I liked it then like I do now. Very nice.
Though it raises the question, did she become the next Goddess of Murder?
