The problems I've been experiencing are:
1. No sound-fx (hacking and slashing sounds, character selection, feedback, and attack sounds, random barter ("I can't go much further" etc etc)), unless I move the screen. Thus, only the area-related sound effects remain (birds whistling, wolves howling, etc) when I lift no fingers.
2. During the BG1 part of the game, the music sometimes fails to initiate. Exiting and restarting the game solves this, albeit temporarily.
3. Having started BG2, problem no. 2 seems to have vanished... only to have the battle music play as standard chimes in certain areas (temple district, waukeen's promenade, d'Arnise, villainless dungeons, ...). When I enter combat, whatever (battle-themed) tune was playing, fades out for a different battle-themed tune. Victorious in combat? Battle-themed tune alpha begins playing again. :)

Note: Somehow I believe the culprit's RoT. Had to delete some code in the script for level 2 of CI (cutscene failed to initiate properly). Then, upon entering Waukeen's Promenade for the first time, the cutscene with Jonny ran twice - with a 10 second interval inbetween the two. (Considering the beforementioned problems I'm experiencing, needless to say that nothing they said during the scenes could be heard, as I couldn't move the cursor in order to "hear voices" :crying: ).
Also, Wulfgar (or whatever's his name) seems to be the only character that DOES repsond normally when I click him and give him orders.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!! That battle-music thingy's really keeping me from playing... (Not a bad thing perhaps, since I'm due for some college exams in the coming weeks :whistling: )

Hey,

Never really thought about it, but I also have that battle-music problem(well I don't really consider it a problem, just a cosmetic thing imho). I also have RoT installed, so maybe RoT could have something to do with the battlemusic, but all the rest works fine for me.

Hope this helps at least a little bit, but I'm afraid I can't help you any more than this.

And so there are other ppl who can't resist BG even during exam period. Just came back from my organic chemistry exam, lol.

Edit: the double cutscene is a known issue, I believe. In a thread I made, a fix for that is mentioned

Oh, and on a side note, Cyclopses seem to be hurling "purple smites" instead of boulders...

Oh, and on a side note, Cyclopses seem to be hurling "purple smites" instead of boulders...

this isn't a bug, per se - it's working as Horred intended in v177 - but it's on my list of things to fix (ie, revert to the v176 behaviour) cos i think it looks stupid too (and doesn't cause nearly as much troble as the old wing buffet boulders)

2. During the BG1 part of the game, the music sometimes fails to initiate. Exiting and restarting the game solves this, albeit temporarily.

music and sounds are controlled by the GUI - so if you want BG1 sounds, you need to run Setup-GUI and choose BGT. likewise, when you get to BG2, if you want BG2 sounds, then you need to choose a non-BGT GUI. you've only got a problem if you've tried all the GUI options available to you and none of them give the proper sounds - but i'd more than a little surprised if this was occurring.

Aha! :) Seems to have solved problem numero 3, as you suggested it would. Many thanks!!!

However... I still do not get sound effects! Even though the option's at maxed out volume, it still only "manifests itself" when I move the sreen. Truly suprised that this issue seems to have arisen for the first time on my install... Has to be me :D
