Sarevok's death

I've finally killed Sarevok at the end of BG1, but now i'm at a loss of what to do next. Upon his death nothing happens (nor once all his allies are killed too). Also I can't exit the building they are in. CTRL + 4 shows where the exit is, but the tooltip doesn't change whilst hovering it and nothing happens when clicking it. Even if i use the console to escape the building, when I travel to the palace, Belt and Liia have nothing to say to me.

I'm presuming Belt and Liia are the people to talk to after Sarevok is dead, so what do i do?

Is there anything quick and easy I can do to remedy this so I can progress? (such as manually setting a variable)

Oh, and thanks to everyone involved in making this for adding so much enjoyment to the game :cheers:

I've had the same problem while testing BGT-WeiDU - stuck in the room, nobody has nothing to say about Sarevok's death when I CLUA:MoveToArea() - but I was not able to reproduce it.

Try: CLUAConsole:SetGlobal('endofbg1','GLOBAL',1)

Belt should have something to say now. :)

Did Sarevok simply die? What should happen is that Sarevok starts a short dialogue with you, then he has scripted death, followed by a movie, then a string displayed on the screen. If that didn't happen, your characters must have been too uber, and you might have to fight him again (that is, if you don't want to 'cheat'). :)

Yes he just died. No dialogue. My party is pretty powerful, but he still took *a lot* of hacking at him to go down, after trying many different strategies. That battle is *hard*. I have installed the tougher Sarevok and Semaj component.

One strange thing, his corpse could not be walked over, as though a creature was still there, but there was no feedback ring. This made picking up the sword of chaos difficult. I don't know if that is relavent?

Hmm, I didn't experience any of this when I was playing through the 0.99 zeta version of BGT. When I killed Sarevok, his dying dialogue triggered as it should and journal entries also appeared correctly.

had same problem. started over from a previous saved game and did not add too much strength to my characters. everything then worked fine. I have one question for everyone. I have an island on my map caled somewhere far north. what is that and how do I get there. Thanks

I am getting this too. I have killed him 4 times. All with swords, MM, Melf's AA, not with over kill spells.

Chev, any chance you can clone your current installation, then start uninstalling mods one-by-one and seeing if it keeps occurring?

BPv176 was my thught too, actualy. on the thread about Sarevok liking bridges, Spawn eventually found that Sarevok.cre was altered by BPv176, and that removing it from the override folder solved his problem - it's probably going to solve this one too, i'm guessing.

Chev, do you have ConTEXT installed on yr machine? if so, open all the .tp2s you've got installed and run a batch search for AR7225 - if it's not Sarevok.cre being altered, it might be the area script.

Chevalier, where is your save ? Before entering the building or just after entering the building ? As I said before, I encountered the problem (stuck in that place, and 'endofbg1' not set) once while testing BGT-WeiDU 1.00 with no mods. IIRC (but my memory is very dim about this issue), when I entered the room, I was already stuck there. All other times I have tested, I could freely enter and exit the room even before the battle...
