Good to see the two of yoou working together.

At this rate BP will be the big four again, and possibly bugless! :new_thumbs:

Holy crap!
For the last year I figured that Vlad was utterly set against making his mods compatible with other's work. Gosh I'm glad if I was wrong :coolthumb:

Vlad is a nice guy, I have worked with him manytimes over the net on his great mods! He will not work to make his mods work with other mods and will not support his mods when they are combined with other big mods. This is because he does not have these installed on his computer. Vlad also has concerns (and rightly so) when others change his mods. Vlad has and most likely will work with others that he trusts to make patches for their and his mods to work together.

Vlad has never seemed to stand in the way of his mods being made moe compatable with other mods. His biggest concern is people changing altering his mods. Rightly so, if you doubt how much work he puts into his mods, play one. You will see why he has the right to be picky.

Do you suppose I didn't? Actually, I even think that Tortured Souls is one of the best five BG mods EVAR  But when one have to choose between NEJ+TS or TDD+SOS+TS+CtB+others guess what choice it will be? It's right because of Vlad mod's quality that I was mourning my inability to enjoy them - to add them to my giant BP-based Baldur's Gate world :(

Vlads mods are awesome, I use the multi install tool so that I can have 2 installs. One for vlads mods and one for everything else.

I'm absolutely sure about:
SoS+TDD+TS+BGT (already revised)
+
BP+CtB+BH+DSotSC+NSotSC (still need to receive a confirmation of compatibility, but I don't see any problem there).

There's a special case for NEJ2. There won't be any modifications done to it - only the original Vlad's version (with all corresponding original patches), but we can try to make OTHER mods to live with it without conflicts....

Wouldn't you mind explaining me how making a mod for a mod without author's permission might be less ethical than making a mod for a game on the same terms (which is the case for all BG modding)? And (hint!) it just could be compatibility mod :)

The fact that Vlad has specifically asked for people to not mod his mods, and that his mods are in BETA make it unethical to make modifications to it. Released games like BG are final releases and I believe the EULA tells you that you mod at your own risk.

As for no modifications to NeJ2, that is why BGT-WeiDU is trying to avoid things that NeJ2 changes. I also avoided TS things for thtat purpose as well (hence, renaming the entire chess game!)

OK, now I get the picture, thank you :)

Dung, I was hoping that BP will eventually become a standart base fo future BG2 mods in matters of compatibility, but I guess it would be way too good to be truth :crying:

Well it will, but only for mods that start being created AFTER the entire final version of BP is available, which will be a long time yet, so eventually, like you say, will it become a standard base. However, we are missing one big piece of the puzzle that must be considered, and that is the Tutu side of things. No further comment.

There are many typos in the current version of TS. It may be because of encoding on Vlad's side as I don't see another reason why instead of ' there are ? in all TS dialogs.

It's not a typo, it's a different code page, and hence different ASCII character which is actually looks like this ´. :) By the way I didn't touch the original text at all, just triggers and actions in dialogues. I think multiple conversion of strings upon making WeiDU installation by different users caused this problem.

P.S. It's just different ASCII code for the ` character.

Yes, of course, different ASCII code, I used the wrong expression :)
However, the problem still exists, but I think it will be solved at KD's side :P

I don't think so. I guess you both use localised version of Windows. It means you should go through all dialogues and change this ASCII character for your *´* character or for the standart apostrophe like this --> *'*. But may be I'm wrong.
