Hey all,

I thought it was about time I did some work for once, so I've managed to dig up and repackage Mortis' old race mod, This is one aimed at evil protagonists who fancy a change of pace...literally.

First I'll include the links thus far and then I'll post the readme: -

http://www.final-exo..._Mortis_V23.zip

http://www.3ddownloa...studios/Seifer/

==================================================================================
Pack Name:Mortis Mini Mod V2.31
==================================================================================
Creator Name: Mortis
Weidu Repackage: Seifer
Creator Email: The_corrupt@hotmail.com
Creator Web URL: Here
==================================================================================
Compatible Games:
-----------------

[?] Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
[?] Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
[x] Baldur's Gate II: The Darkest Day ToB Version

Compatible Mods:
-----------------

All Weidu mods. It should be compatible with non-weidu mods subject to them being installed BEFORE this mod is.

==================================================================================
Pack Contents/Description:
--------------------------

1- A brand new shop located in area AR1400 (the shadow woods), this shop sells all manner of evil items including a set of potions that can turn you into a member of the undead. Lich, Vampire, Skeleton Warrior & Wraith are fully playable complete with all standard undead powers & weaknesses (such as inability to use healing potions) These undead potions have a high level (often stat also) requirement I will not tell you those limits. find the shop and enjoy working it out for yourself.

2- Another semi-shop located in the first level (Irenicus' Dungeon), this shop sells potions that will alter your race to one of the following; Beholder, Gibberling, Gnoll, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kobold, Lizardman, Minotaur, Ogre and Orc.

All the changes are in-line with the rules given in the AD&D complete book of humanoids (apart from beholder) They are (in my opinion) a true conversion of the Ad&d races into TDD.

==================================================================================
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
---------------------.

To play as any of the new races you MUST start a NEW game as a HUMAN. This is because humans have no racial bonuses for me to need to delete before changing your race.

The undead potions have a high level (& often stat) requirement I will not tell you those limits. find the shop and enjoy working it out for yourself.

==================================================================================
HOW TO INSTALL:
---------------

Install (ie, copy)the directory, exe and tp2 files to your native Baldur's Gate II directory and run the exe. You'll see a DOS pop up box presenting you with some install options. Following these should be child's play.

==================================================================================
COMMON PROBLEMS:
---------------

Q-I can't find your race npc...
A-He is in the room above Jaheria's Cell

Q-I can't find you ~evil~ npc
A-He is in the mid-north of AR1400, and wont appear untill you are in his sight.

Q-I tried the above but its not helped
A-Delete AR0602 and AR1400 files from the Cashe Folder

Q-I did the above and now BG2 wont work
A-I SAID BACK UP FIRST..... lol

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

In the readme it says that this mod is designed for TDD. Does the game work on an install without TDD?

*performs thread necromancy*

hello Seifer, its Mortis

its wonderful to see someones made use of my old mods
I kinda vanished from BG modding when i began to focus on my real life (university) and by the time i'd finished new games (NwN) took away my time on BG
(if anyone ever played on NWN Abyss404 i was one of the head DM's there)

Anyway, i only registered to this site to comment here, and it makes me very happy to see my works still bringing enjoyment to others.

I never managed to expand on the Forgotten children concept, well not beyond the raw animations and initial concept stage..
but if i ever find my old computers hard-drive ill upload everything i had (if its not gone corrupt)

Hope people are still enjoying this...

and god... now i feel the urge to reinstall BG2 :D

Hey everybody,

I've just finished to reorder this mod in tra files and to translate it in french. I've just a little problem with one sentence :

Ability Score Drained

What's exactly the meaning of this sentence ? Score is something like dexterity, XP, or level... ?

Ability would be dex, str, wis, int, cha, or con.
Score would be number.

It would be nice if somebody'd make this mod BWP-compatible... There are so few ways to play evil... :(

Did you try the install in french, BohemianReader? It doesn't work, even in english... I guess it's because you have two subfolders "Mortis", although the .tp2 refers to only one.
And you have also some parsing errors in the english and french .tra files: let's use DialogChecker to correct its.

- Traified the mod
- Added French translation by BohemianReader
- Added VERSION tag
- Changed to README command
- Moved Setup-Mortis.TP2 into the mod folder
- Added Mortis-Changelog.txt
- Updated to WeiDU v217

Greetings Leomar
A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Someone said this mod isn't compatible with BWP, do they mean that it isn't part of the batch file? Does anyone know where to best plug this mod into a BWP manual install? Thank you.
