V150 - Maybe another bug

I have had the regress to Cabdleeep with V148. I have an O/S problem documneted here....
I'm not sure this is part of the problem. My previous issues, see other posts, I expect are cleared, but I'm waiting to test the bridge problem. (It maybe related to the install/uninstall problem documented in the thread "please HELP it keeps crashing during instail.", but I am unclear about this.
The (gentle {Blitz}) advice to read that thread more carefully will be accepted.
I have opened (yet) another thread; I hope that people that follow me through will find the seperate statement of problems and their resolution helfull and that my thread naming is sufficinetly descriptive, attractive and narrowing.
TIA
If anyone's up to this... I'd appreicate help.
Extra facts - I'm using W98 (albeit reasoably pathched) and the V148 install/uninstall is not desperately clean. I have been advised to backup/ delete Bg2 and start again. I'm trying to avoid this advice

If you've tried everything I suggested in that other thread (can't remember the exact one), then the only other option is to reinstall the game, unless someone else suggests something.
However, there is a quick-reinstall guide in the General BG2 forum. You'll love it, trust me.

Try installing V150, not V148.

No matter how hard one tries, one so often makes mistakes (me not you). I am using V150 (although the thread title {hopefully} states this, I recongise that the mesage doesn't.

I assume you have a normal BG2/TOB game with patches? If so, install CtB before anything else since it is so big (and therefore more likely to have problems on your machine). Run a game and see if you still have problems. If not, then close out the game and break the good install with some other mods.
Make sure that you are really running the 150 version and have copied down the correct TP2 file from CB's site. If that install worked, you shouldn't be having this problem. Otherwise, I would recommend that you bite the bullet and go ahead and rebuild your game. Hey, if that doesn't sound like fun, don't bother downloading BP or BGT. Part of the fun of those mods is the opportunity to reinstall over and over again.
